Not Everyone Knows the DLC is Free!

So let’s change that.

Since my recent players were already filled with people from Reach and HW, I sent them a mass message:

> All Halo 3, Halo Wars, and Halo: Reach DLC are free! (Excluding Noble Map Pack.) Download them and spread the word!

Before anyone says anything, I intentionally left out Call of “halo” 4, that experience is still too traumatic to for me acknowledge it’s existence. No response from most people, but most responses were positive and thanking me for the information, however a few were of confusion. Some people did not know how or where to download the DLC.

Since some people are still complete n00bs with basic functions of the Xbox One (or Xbox 360), I had to tell them to go to “Home” or “Games & apps”, press start on the game, “see in store”, then scroll down to “game add-on’s”. When someone told me they were also in “Ready to install”, I included “You can find them in the marketplace or in ‘Ready to install’ under ‘Games & apps’.” in the middle of my message.

To speed up the rate I go through my recent players, I was match making primarily in BTB, Invasion, and Multi Team then backing out before a full lobby is created. If I do get in a game, I still play it. (One game I went 28-2.) Once I get a completely new recent players list, rinse and repeat.

Unfortunately there is still a language barrier with some people based on a couple responses (might have to use some simple Spanish), and I have yet to get a game with the DLC maps, but hopefully the effort will pay off. At least I get to hear some people are grateful for the information. There is a limit on how many mass messages you can send to people in a day, so the next time I fill up my recent players list, I will wait to play another game until I can message again. I also left a LFG post for Halo Wars and Halo: Reach letting people know about the free DLC.

If anyone else can do the same with different playlists, it would really speed up the process of finally getting to play some DLC maps in matchmaking.

noble pack aint free

Halo 4 isn’t really like Call of Duty. Just because it has sprint or loadouts doesn’t mean it copied CoD. Also, you don’t have to sprint, and the loadouts aren’t always the ones made by the player.
With that out of the way:
Most people aren’t aware of the free DLC because they simply focus on playing and nothing else, and sometimes it reveals that they suck at the game. This happens especially in Halo 4 (Tons of n00bs these days). It might also be because it just gives you what? 3, 4 maps and that’s it? No new armor or weapons? And these type of people want new weapons and armor out of packs.

Dunno why 343 cant just make it a mandatory game update. This way everyone gets it and we can finally see some new maps in matchmaking. Im thoroughly sick of the same 4-5maps every single time.

also, wud it kill to have more objective games during btb voting?? Also wud like to see some new ones like headhunter or whatnot apart from ctf and assault.

halo 4 is such a good game, why do you treat it like this?

How do you mass message?

Halo 4 totally copied COD. Kill camera, loadouts, grenade markers, and sprinting are all signatures of that franchise.

Signatures, but they don’t completely belong to CoD. Loadouts is something quite common in the FPS games. Battlefield, Team Fortress (kinda), many games have this mechanic\feature. Grenade Markers are also in many games. Sprinting is present in almost every FPS game. I don’t about kill cameras so I won’t talk about it.

On the 360 guide:

Select someone’s gamertag, “send message”, “Change Gamertags”. I think you can select up to 100 people, but I could be wrong.

Apparently some people are having difficulty with this, maybe a glitch? As they say when they go on the market place it says the Noble map pack is $10.

It’s an issue that 343 is trying to fix at the moment. It’s unknown why it’s happening. Just wait a bit longer, patiently, like a Sangheili.

There is an issue with the pack at the moment, but the Xbox team that deal with the market place are looking into it

Ah sweet, have any idea what’s causing the problem and when it’ll be finished? Because surely it’d be as simple as taking some sort of code that gives it a price? I mean I don’t actually do coding or anything so I don’t know (: Doesn’t actually even really matter to me too as I bought the DLC’s back 2011 (I think that’s when they came out), just know other people are interested in it for coming back to repopulate Reach, now it is a habitable planet again

No idea I’m afraid, we’ll know as soon as it gets fixed and 343 tells us it’s live

What is the noble pack anyway…

Noble map pack: The fight for humanity rages on a galactic scale. From a frozen xeno-archaeology site harboring secrets millennia old to an orbital anchor defending the stars high above planet Reach - and to mysterious places far, far beyond - Bungie’s Noble Map Pack injects three new explosive environments into the multiplayer battlefield, each designed to reinforce all of Halo: Reach’s vital warfronts, from small scale engagements to massive Invasion battlegrounds.

Maps are break point, tempest and anchor 09. There’s also 7 achievements. It was the first pack to be released.
