I picked up the Ultimate Edition for $40 a few weeks ago and just finished the first game, and now working on the second and I have to say it is really well done.
It is sad though Microsoft couldn’t even sell 500,000 units. Blows my mind! http://www.vgchartz.com/game/86148/halo-wars-2/
Hopefully we get some great support over the next couple of years, because I can see myself playing this game for hundreds of hours to come.
That’s not including digital sales, my dude.
Glad you’re enjoying it! Though I will say that number doesn’t include digital copies sold, so there was a bigger return than previously thought.
Yeah if it doesn’t include digital copies then it really means squat. I haven’t talked to anyone in ages that buys physical copies unless they have a collection of that series.
Do we know what the numbers are with digital?

No idea, they don’t release those numbers very often.
If it doesn’t include digital sales it’s kind of useless, I would say the majority buy their games digitally now.

Something being good is subjective, you might think it’s great, but others were probably not interested to begin with and we’re disappointed with halo wars 1
I’d imagine the digital numbers to be pretty damn high. We had all been hyped up and waiting for another Halo Wars title for a while.
I exclusively buy digital now. And allot of people around me do the same. I hope it did well. The support for this game really came through
I bought the game digitally. Knew I would never sell it. And I never will.
I bought the physical copy. Most people from my experience by their games online from Amazon
Everyone is game sharing at this point I would imagine so digital is the only way to go for me!
VG charts no digital sales= We don’t know -Yoink- It could be at a million including both. I’m not believing these numbers ill believe it when both editions are totaled up together.
Oh and this game is great! And good to hear what you think about it
The fact that it doesn’t include digital sales means it’s missing a huge chunk. I know I bought the ultimate edition specifically to get access to Halo Wars Definitive Edition 2 months early and there were a lot of players on it. There’s been a huge push towards digital games for the sheer convenience of it. You never have to manually switch between games again, and if you’re like me and use gold sharing then you could share a copy with a friend or family member. Halo 5 was the last physical game I bought and that was only because I was collecting all Halo games. I don’t see myself going physical ever again.
Last i was aware VGCharts have never been accurate. Most of their claims have been proven false.

Prove it.
All of the games I know that have been announced sales wise it is spot on.
The longer it’s out, the more people will pick it up. A lot of people out there, even halo fans, are still unsure about buying an RTS game. The word needs to get out that Halo RTS games don’t have to be just an alternative to the standard FPS titles.
Again, there seems to be a decent population out there. It’s not Halo 5 levels, but it’s not HW1 levels either, which evaporated a couple months in except for the hardest of hard core.
