So they’ve introduced expected wait times now in the lobby…but I’ve had “Not enough similar players to estimate wait time” a few times this evening.
It’s currently 1am GMT and I’m mainly connecting to EU servers…but it took a few years for Halo5 to get in to this state when you’d struggle to find a game after midnight. Congrats to 343i for killing off the population so much inside of 3 months…that’s really good going!
So now the game decides to sent me across the Atlantic and to the other side of America…don’t get me wrong, I absolutely love my road trips in California but I really don’t want to be playing Halo on Los Angeles servers at 153ms ping. Fix your broken -Yoink!- game 343i!

Head up King, other players will eventually climb to the peak Halo you must be playing for them to gatekeep you.
It’s not a lot better at 19 ms - consistent packet loss and latency. Still, a whole 1.5 seconds behind in halo infinite is really a full 2.3 seconds when compensating for the servers compensation.

Yeah totally agree. When I connect to EU servers at 20ms the game still plays like a stinking turd. I’m pretty sure part of the desync issue is due to players being placed on servers thousands of miles away but we can’t check where they’re from….I was in a game earlier and my 3 team mates were all speaking a language that I couldn’t understand but I’m pretty sure it was Arabic because it definitely wasn’t European. If the game is doing that then no wonder it’s a broken mess.
My friend and I can’t even find games East Coast US prime time in the evening. We are spending most games in Central or West Coast servers.
Either the population is horribly low or the matchmaking is totally messed up.
Anyways…you know when to give up for the night when the game searches and fails to find a game multiple times for 15 minutes.
The good news is that I think I’ve found a way to block US servers…it could just take a while to block them all individually.
I think my time is done with this game now tbh…Elden Ring should arrive within the next few days so I’m looking forward to playing a genuine AAA title that has been created by a team that actually know what they’re doing.
