I’ve been following the most recent bulletins and a few discussions revolving around them. However, the only change that I’ve seen for the carbine is it has been dropped down to a 7SK.
A nice change, I’ll say. But, I can’t help but feel that it may still under perform a bit. Particularly with the BR being a 4SK now. The rate of fire debuff may help some, but I can’t help but feel the Carbine will be used even less than it is now and be completely overwhelmed by the other Precision Weapons.
I’m sure that not all of the information about Weapon Tuning has been released, however I would like to hear more about the Carbine and its state. Oh, and I would also like more details on the other starting weapons not mentioned as well. I love my Storm Rifle and Magnum as well, after all.
Any other thoughts of the current state of the weapon balancing, and of course anything you guys would like to see?
I’m also quite interested on what will be done with the Secondary Weapons.
I would also love for a Test Playlist to be implemented somehow before the weapon balancing is made official, to help keep things in a controlled environment at first to further perfect the tweaking.
Oh, and please keep things clean. No “This game is a joke/This isn’t real Halo/Yada Yada.” if possible.
Well don’t forget OP that they’re nerfing the weapons more powerful than the Carbine, so hopefully it will level out a bit more than you may think.
if the aim assit is taken out of the dmr the carbine will be able to compete with tbh taking the aim asit out is all that has to be done not making the br a 4 shot kill which means the carbine wont compete in short battles
just leave the carbine alone, great weapon. all you need to do is remove the dmr which is a terrible weapon, br is fine, case closed.
seriously why can’t people see this? the dmr is causing all the hassle, if they removed the dmr, the carbine would be far more useful as it can cover a greater range than the battle rifle, it’s the dmr that’s letting it down because it does exactly the same thing but better, hell bring back the needle rifle if you need to fill in the gaps, that gun was great in reach, so long as they keep the bloom. i’d still pick the carbine though because that weapon is beast.
The BR’s rate of fire is being slowed down, but I don’t think the Carbine’s is. I have a hunch that the Carbine may become the deadliest mid range weapon in the hands of a skilled player.
The Carbean is gonna get more love than Shepard.
I think the Carbines going to be deadly with upcoming changes in the hands a of a skilled player that can frequently hit the max rate of fire.
Battle rifle with Carbine in Halo 3,
DMR with Needle Rifle in Halo Reach,
And now DMR, Battle rifle, Carbine, and Light rifle in the same game.
Too much variety, and the carbine is the one that feels the least changed.
Carbine has always been relatively weak but it makes up for it with it’s rof. I’m sure with the balancing that’s going on we’re going to have an appropriate carbine to counter the other rifles. It should all level out.
The Carbine going from an 8sk to a 7sk will lower its kill time from 1.63 to 1.4, it will be able to compete with others just fine then.
