Not dissing Reach, but it's behind...

First of all, I am NOT a COD fanboy and am NOT hating on Reach. But I just feel like it’s behind on a lot of things that it shouldn’t be. I feel like this game is the “Iphone” of the shooters. In other words, it’s getting a lot of features that have already been in other shooters for a while.

EXAMPLES:

1)NAMEPLATES - Sure we USED to be able to pick a symbol for them, but still no further customizing (colors, frames, icons, words, etc…)

2)SKINS FOR GUNS - Ya, it’s just decoration, but it would be kinda neat to have a badass tiger skin on a weapon or a gold weapon

3)ARMOR - The whole 2 years this game has been out, I always thought it was lousy that armor doesn’t actually DO anything for you. It’s just for looks. I understand they need to keep things fair and balanced out for newcomers and experienced players, but at least have the grenade belt/chest give you a few extra grenades, or let you use the machete that comes with the security shoulder armor, or have the visors give you different scenery effects in-game, etc…

4)WEAPONS - They gave out Legendary flames to people who bought the legendary game, they gave out bonus armor to people who pre-ordered the game, so what about weapons? As long as they aren’t more powerful than the standard ones, I think it would be pretty neat to have an exclusive weapon you unlocked by buying the dlc or getting it by pre-ordering. Like the assault rifle but a slightly modified version of it.

5)MAPS - This is just my opinion, but I think they need to bring out more custom made maps and give us back the dlc maps playlists because they barely ever show up in normal matchmaking games. Just feels like I’m constantly playing Sword Base, Boardwalk, Asylum, Reflection, Countdown, and Powerhouse over and over again. It gets old.

Anyway, having said all that, I know a lot of this really doesn’t do anything for you and is just more dress-up stuff, but more customization in a game is always fun because it makes every player unique. But the maps and diff weapons would be really cool. Anyway, I’m hoping Halo 4 has a lot of this, if not more. I don’t want it to be another Iphone(shooter game) coming out with supposed “new” features that Android(other shooter games) already had. But that can be another debate all in itself for you Iphone lovers. (and by the way, I don’t hate the Iphone. But it is a fact that they added features to the newer devices that should have already been on it. Thought it was a good comparison lol.)

Ha I have an iPhone and love it. With that being said…
I do agree reach is broken in a lot of areas. I couldn’t agree with you more on the maps we need more variety! Bloom is out of control I feel like bullets are made out of plastic at times (example “how many times do I have to shoot him?!?!”) it’s just not that enjoyable anymore it’s stale I guess u could say. Halo 4 needs to be in my box pronto! :stuck_out_tongue:

On the armor, I would make the changes very slight. Putting on the sniper should armor gives you 2% better hit probability and/or 2% faster reload.

I think the extra grenades might be TOO big an advantage, but 2-5% more damage wouldn’t be too much.

Sadly the DLC playlists were highly popular and balanced so 343i decided to remove them to help players get more enjoyment out of the game, how ever that logic works.
