Before you call me a “Not a true fan” or say, “There’s the door” etc I have played every title, maxed rank on 5, top 69 in the world for free for all ranked arena etc. I know halo in and out, could talk for hours about the lore. I am looking to talk with others who feel the same way. If you want to cry about the fact that I do not want what it looks like 343 is trying to pass off as a halo title, then go cry about it somewhere else.
In light of the recent Infinite news, I will not be buying Infinite at launch, if at all.
The past 2 years have shown some interesting things for Halo’s story, but unfortunately, most have been disapointing. 343 has had almost 6 years to dev this title, with promises all throughout, and as we get closer to “Launch” they keep showing more and more ugly truths. I had high hopes for Infinite, but now, I see it may end up to be another Destiny / Anthem / Outriders / Farcry Primal situation. Dead on arrival title.
They had covid affect them yes, but still had 4 years prior to work on this. The microtransaction “Free to play” situation is even more icing on the BLAM cake.
we have had “free” updates before that drip fed the abysmall req systems’s content in halo 5, and price per map dlc has gone up from around 2.8 to 3 bucks from reach and halo3, to 5 and up* as *halo 5 updates had free content but req system items could be purchased an unlimited amount of times. we also only had 9 dlc maps for 4 of the 12 dlc packs that halo 5 gave us. As the money moel has moved from map content into the lucrative cringe cosmetic hellscape we see today, it has only gotten worse for the series as a whole.
This is what I am going to do; I will keep reading the books, enjoy the story, but you will get no more money from me. I never thought that halo would become a title I would rather youtube the cutscenes / playthroughs for, and be done with it.

Thinking you can silence me with that is laughable. you can enjoy it, but I will not. I also want to discuss this with others as I said, you trolling this thread is what will get you diciplined.
I can’t wait for a mod to lock this thread because you literally have nothing unique or productive to say. I think a break from Halo will do well for you. Clearly you’re pretty emotional over this.

Ignore the damage control bots in this thread, your distaste is completely justified. Drip fed info in the last year after 5 years of complete silence, we still know very little about the game and thats a huge red flag for me. 4 months to release and the only beta we had was killing bots. And now coop and forge are delayed but microtransactions are there, up and running from day 1. Not to mention how it doesnt resemble halo anymore, take away the armors you re left with a generic shooter. Im not spending a single dime either…

Halo isn’t even close to dead and the amount of people that played the flight alone proves that. Be upset all you want, but a game isn’t dead just because you don’t care for it. Don’t go spewing Fortnite-level logic here, this isn’t Twitter.

Doubtful. It would hurt more if the game is rushed. Don’t want another repeat of Halo 5’s launch disaster.
Yea i do. I feel like Microsoft has their boot on halos neck for years now. Making halo into a cash cow that they milk dry. Its sad to see but you are right. It hasnt really lived up to HYPE since halo reach being the last game i truly enjoyed. Still to this day the limited edtion Halo Reach is my favourite and best piece of collectable of halo. I was so disappointed with 4’s and the game was ok’ish with 5 being a total let down across all factors. I wont be buying at launch either and its sad to say this. Hopefully when it comes out there will be great talks about it and make me wanna go out of my way to get it. So all i can do now is dream.

I think you are right. Word on the street is Microsoft is pushing 343 to launch even though 343 is hitting bug road blocks with Co Op Campaign and forge is massive so it’s not even close to being done.
