Not being able to drop flag in CTF

I think not being able to drop the flag during a capture the flag game is absurd. Using only a magnum to protect yourself is the biggest joke I have ever seen. Being able to put down the flag and defend yourself would make a lot more sense than running for dear life without being able to drop the flag. I also understand that at close range the mangum does great damage. But what if I am being sniped from the hilltop of Ragnarok? Would it make more sense to be able to put it down and defend or keep running forward hoping he does not hit you again. I would really like honest opinions on if it is right to not be able to drop the flag. Because I for one juggled the flag in Halo 3 and Reach to score.

The central theme of Halo 4 is all about removing, limiting and reducing. In every aspect of the game you’ll see options, features, game types etc all removed or reduced or limited. It makes sense they took away the ability to drop the flag, there’s no downside to dropping the flag but hey, why not remove it …

Defense force inbound

because ctf is a team game it now require team work and skill. The old way I could single handedly win a ctf game easy with just a power weapon. Stop trying to stir -Yoink- up, we are pass the ctf changes already.

People have every right to discuss their opinions, so long as they do it constructively. Let’s play nice.

Im not trying to stir anything up. It was my post which was posted for others opinions. If that ticks you off, dont post. I dont care if you could score single handedly with a power weapon. All I asked is if it is right to not being able to drop the flag to defend yourself.

Thank you.

After playing it alot i find that its not a bad thing but i do still miss being able to juggle the flag. It does give the flag guy some skill because now the flag guy can atleast challenge at certain times and has a decent chance at winning gun fights. I think if possible maybe allow both might be a weird animation but allow juggling and then when you are just walking it give you a magnum

While were at it, lets remove weapons from the map, ranks, map control, quality maps, and any other core element that made halo unique and great. Halo engine just needed to be re-tuned you say? No problem, we decided to trash the old engine and waste our time and efforts (that could be used in more constructive ways) reinventing a new one.

I understand that some players (you among them) are disappointed with Halo 4, but let’s please try to keep complaints relevant to the topic at hand – Capture the Flag.
