Not Bad 343, Here's Constructive Criticism

Hey 343! I’m here to provide some valid feedback on the launch of season 2, including quality of life improvements that dropped with the update. For each bolded section, I’ll start with the positives and then list ways to improve going forward.
General:

  • PC Optimization feels much better. I have a monster rig (3080ti) and it was frustrating to be dropping frames and experiencing stutter. Now I was able to sit at my capped 144 frames with no problems.
  • This optimization led to much more fluid gameplay. My bullet registration felt more accurate, melee battles were less sporadic and I felt like I had better control over my spartan.
  • The balance between mouse and keyboard and controller still needs work. Right now, controller is too strong in high speed strafe battles where reticle friction remains locked on to the target. Hoping to see more work here in the near future.

Game Modes

  • Last Spartan Standing is a great addition! I was highly engaged in the mode and I love the incentive of not camping, since you need to take down other spartans to build your arsenal. I will say, the circle should activate sooner, as there is this odd break in the middle of the game where everything slows down to the extreme.
  • It’s nice to see additional new modes like King of the Hill work their way into the rotation
  • At this point, I feel like I’m playing for no reason. Last night when I got my first win in LSS, I was hoping to see some type of weapon skin or emblem, or… ANYTHING drop for my achievement! But alas, nothing did. There needs to be more in-game rewards aside from the battle pass/store. We want to flex our skills!

I like the addition of LSS and I agree that the circle should start moving quicker, or at least based on howmany players are left.

On your note of getting something for winning a match, why? It’s the same as winning a regular match of FFA or BTB. There is nothing special about LSS, as a mode. It’s not a BR, and even those don’t award items for a win.

It’s mostly just a general comment summarizing the fact that we get nothing for successful achievements. I understand there’s the battle pass, but where we do get to flex the obstacles we overcome? I’m just an old timer who misses the Hayabusa days!
