Not another flame thread!

And if some think it is, oh well sue me, but my excitement level after learning of this BS ranking system has went from a 100 to maybe 10 in just a few short minutes. Don’t get me wrong, I will buy this game on Tuesday if I can find it, and will play it everyday, but there definitely won’t be any marathon sessions like Halo 3. Reach has proved that, the most I can play that is maybe a hour before I’m tired of it, with Halo 3 and rankings it would take 3 or 4 hours of game time for me to tire of it.

I don’t care what anyone says, there is no valid argument AGAINST a ranking system. You can say oh well people boost and buy accounts, well guess what that just shows how important a ranking system truly is. If people are willing to hand out the money for it, then it must be important, at least to them. Just having an optional ranked playlist would suit everyone, and the precious progression system would still be in place for the people who want to be rewarded for losing. It’s easy, in ranked playlist’s it would show your rank, and in social it would show your progression ranking. What’s so hard about that?

When there is no rank, and you’re rewarded for losing there is no extra incentive to win. You people can go on and on all day about how with trueskill matchmaking there will be competitive games. That’s BS, sure there will be a few, not going to deny that, but with a ranked playlist, I feel like I was getting the other team’s best every game, with everything crappy social I can’t say the same, because it’s not true.
Knowing you’re ranking up win or lose, is going to affect the majority of game play.

Let’s face it, competition drives the world, and if this game isn’t competitive and as long lasting as Halo 3, then guess what 343, you better watch out, because Microsoft will be finding someone else to do Halo 5. Or at least will be making wholesale changes within 343 to get someone in there that will give all the Dedicated Halo players what they want.

Lastly, we the community are the one’s who will be paying the ultimate price for this nonsensical decision on 343’s part. Halo 3 had an amazing community, mainly because ranked playlist’s kept the best player’s coming back for more. Reach introduced the dumb progression system, and guess what the community for Reach is terrible. So if 343 decides NOT to update MM and include Ranking, which we very well know they can, then we are the one’s paying the ultimate price, because within a few months the Halo 4 community will be crap like Reach, and sadly this is the way it seems it’s going.

please, can we just discuss cool things about the game like normal forum posters…?
