Not All of Us Hate the Changes...

There is so much negativity floating around the forums these days, I really don’t want to give 343 the impression that it is a universal hatred. I was a very competitive player back in my days of Halo 3, and to this day, I rarely play the game in a “casual” manner. I play to win, and I like winning.

I am a competitive player, and I don’t hate Halo 4.

Sound off if you’re the same.

I like change just not bad change

I really dont understand people that already hate the game just for 20 seconds of gameplay.

Most people are illogical, and that plus nostalgia and various aspects of evolutionary psychology means new additions are always hated.

Don’t worry, 343 don’t think the world of these forums.

Does being semi-competitive count? I primarily play for fun, but that doesn’t mean I don’t try to win XP

like I’ve said in many other threads, ill withhold my judgement until I’ve played the game, or at least have seen significantly more footage (perhaps a continuous gameplay clip from a team slayer match that includes most of the new features being shown). Until then, ill choose to believe that 343 knows what they are doing. We have no previous examples of what their work is like (Reach and CEA were predominately Bungie’s work). therefore we cannot judge what the final product will be like until we have actually PLAYED it.

Negativity that floats should be a wake up call everyone! We are reaching critical mass!

A picture tells a thousand words.
Halo 4 runs at 30 frames per second.
30 frames times 20 seconds equals 600 pictures.
600 times 1,000 equals 600,000 words.
A lot can be said about those 20 seconds.

You’re in the minority. You obviously haven’t paid attention to the polls here, have you?

343 knows that the forums are a vocal minority. They know the Halo community is a vocal minority at this point. They aren’t just trying to please us. They are trying to please the entire gaming community.

343 says dent pffft… We’re in it to destroy the whole gaming landscape.

As far as I can play “Classic Halo” there’s no problem for me

No one “hates” the game. We’re just paranoid about the changes they’re implementing.

Seeing as their employees rather hang out at other forums, I don’t even see what value this one holds at all.

I don’t hate it, but when I see JP I will. lol at competitive in H3.

I don’t think 343 will mess up the game to the point Reach was. 343 made Reach playable again, and the community loved the changes. They wouldn’t just spend all that time and resources just to make the exact same game that they had to fix. We have no idea how these “perks/loadouts” will work but people are hating on them already. There is only one thing I can say that I didn’t like from the trailer, that being a person playing an multiplayer build that was sprinting and had a jetpack. Granted I have no idea how this could come into play and I have no idea how these work for online, but one person had the two most map and game play breaking abilities in all of Reach. With that being said, it didn’t make me want to search all over the forums looking for posts about it and just complaining, and it diffidently didn’t make me want to not get the game like some people on here where saying. I still have faith in 343 and hope for the best.

i am completely in agreement with op

It is natural to dislike change because they get so attached to the original way, and they don’t want to adapt. It is like doing the same exact thing for 10 years, then suddenly you are forced to change your ways. I for one, am looking forward to playing the game as it is, and seeing what other changes 343 has made.

Let us have faith that the community can pull it together soon.

LMAO. What?

Now most people are illogical if they can explain the good AND bad ramifications of certain Halo mechanics?

I hate to pour cold water on you, but just because you add something new to a game it does not mean you’re automatically evolving the game. You can also devolve the game if the new additions hurt the gameplay.

I think some people are really getting scared about a possible Sprint removal. I smell fear. These crazy posts smack of panic.

The community has pulled it together. We need 343 to do what we all know is best for the OVERALL Halo gameplay. We shouldn’t have to beg for solid Halo. They should understand Halo.
