“Or gave the impression that”
My bad, any sequel to anything I will disregard it’s originals, because sequels are it’s own thing, and I should not think the previous iterations will be similar in any way, good or bad. Infact, if a sequel ends up with issues that previously did NOT exist, I should just shut up and throw more money at the company because they truly do care about me as a customer and they deserve it.
Did I specifically say armor cores? No, I said discovery and exploration. Which includes unlockables, and it turns out those unlockables we’re lack luster. Which you fail to understand. “ItS jUsT a vIDeO gAmE” you do know making video games is a profession right? People make their living doing it, business investors put money forth into them, and we the customers pay for it for said businesses to make a profit.
Scummy moves and practices and it’s “just a video game”? My man just press on. Continue being sheep elsewhere.
You’d think you could unlock Chief’s armor set and colors by completing the campaign on legendary but uhh… I guess not.
I think it was entirely reasonable for people to expect armor in something called an armor locker. Doesn’t help that journalists prior to release said the people who datamined that info was wrong only for they themselves to be wrong. People may have made the wrong assumption, but 343 seemed quite content to not clarify.
TFW when OP refutes their own point.
Big Oof my guy, but thank you for saving me some effort in a reply.
You missed the part where I said dead Spartans…dead Spartans with different armor pieces…you would think there would actually be armor in the “armor” lockers. But we just get more colors and skins? Let me remind you color customization was in it’s absolute state of freedom in the older games…now we are looking for them?
I do believe I’ve seen your posts elsewhere, but you seem to be in the ‘stop complaining about the cosmetics’ camp correct?
I understand that yeah the companies busy, yeah the companies doing other stuff, and yeah the company needs to make money.
But if you read my posts in this thread, you’d atleast agree there, no? Just more customization options: Yes please
A low level reach armor on the shop for $20 when we have a half empty battlepass themed after reach (half empty regarding cosmetics)? No please!
Surely you can see why people are agitated at this atleast?
Personally I bought the campaign AND $100 worth of credits because I got drunk playing the multiplayer and was super hyped. Now it’s like. There’s nothing that looks good enough to even buy. I have all these credits and nothing but battlepass levels to buy, or. A flower chest piece. Or… Cat ears. Daily shop tends to have some random color with a different shoulder armor attached to it for $10. Everyone in multiplayer looks the same, for the most part.
I understand they are going to be adding more, but just with the backlog of previous game unlocks and looking at what fans LIKED from those previous titles-
They missed the mark here with PR, imo.
I think the reason why is probably the armor pieces that we were going to end up getting in the campaign are likely the trailblazer helmet and stuff like that that’s been put in the store or in the battle pass
And I think it is unfair that we don’t get a single armor piece whatsoever from the campaign for the multiplayer and beating it on legendary should give you the Mark 6 helmet and shoulders for the Mark 7 armor or even give us a Mark 6 armor core and hopefully whenever a DLC for the campaign releases they correct that mistake and actually give us some content for the multiplayer from the campaign
After failing the launch of halo the master chief collection and halo 5 guardians. 343I and -Yoink!- felt we should pay more for the next game because they messed up so bad.
Not their fault
That could still happen.
Why would something called an “armor locker” have no armor in it?
I find it odd that a Spartan would leave a nameplate in an armor locker.

I remember I got roasted on the halo subreddit for saying armor won’t be in the campaign despite it being data mined apparently. Oh how the cookie crumbles
I don’t see how the battle pass is a deal that I’m wondering why did a lot of the players buy it.
In reality, the battel pass really doesn’t offer much at all considering how empty the game actually is.
My bad, NM. I’m still getting used to this forum
I remember people clinging to that game dev saying that the leakers “missed something”. When that apparently turned out to be just a straight up lie. Unless there really is some armor pieces tied to doing something incredibly esoteric ingame no one has found.
Wow… 343 on BS? Never would have guessed.
I highlighted what you said (green), versus what was left out of your initial point (red).
So I didn’t miss anything, your point didn’t make that clear, honestly I was confused by the topic title when the post made no mention of armor.
I honestly dunno why 343 didn’t do more with the customization unlocks in campaign, it made sense that there should be more. But the dead Spartans? Those armors were not visually appealing variants, which is probably why they should’ve included them
And now color choice isn’t an absolute freedom.
“The missions change, they always do” just how it is. I hope that 343 does include better coating options.
In an oversimplified way, yes lol.
Couple of posts I don’t agree with and I think you jumped the shark with a bit, but you’re not badgering anyone into seeing things your way. I can respect that.
The company should honestly be busier with this title than they are lol. I personally feel people need to be with the people they care about at the holidays regardless of belief, so it’s a bit unfortunate that the game made its debut this late in the year when the holidays are in full swing.
I think there are avenues where the Devs could have been more generous with the cosmetics, and there are avenues where players need not be so offended by certain cosmetic acquisitions.
Overall I’m fine with the cosmetics and just wanna see issues making a worse gameplay experience get addressed.
I think this is a partly a perception thing. It may have been a low level armor in Reach, but now with a price tag it seems out of touch because if its stature in Reach.
Similar to how I personally just want so badly to get ODST in the BP because I love that helmet and it was a low level acquisition (both Halo 3 and Reach), and now you really have to grind for it.
Tiered progressions skew the value of items, obviously people are going to want what’s out of reach (no pun intended) but that doesn’t mean it’s any more valuable than the stuff you unlock initially.
Is the battlepass lacking? “Oh boy can’t wait to unlock Grey” yes, it definitely is.
Was it a cheap move to not include more Reach armor in the BP? Yeah it was
Is the battlepass a rip off because of this (not your question, just ramblinh): nah. $10 and it never goes away and comes with more than $10 worth of armor? Honestly a good deal.
Ooof man I can’t condone inebriation and sales, that’s entirely on you lol
I will agree with you, until the holiday weekly deal I haven’t seen anything that really caught my eye. I’d be more inclined to purchase something if it would compliment the look I wanted to go for. There’s not enough variety or differences to warrant a purchase in my opinion.
And I’m not a fan of the chintzy stuff like flowers (although the Cat Ears are just kooky enough to fit into Halo).
There does need to be more variety, but without diving clear off into ridiculous deep end.
They have a backlog, but it’s clear from the Jorge model that they did build every single armor from the ground up. So it’s not a rip or an import, which makes the process a bit more lengthy.
They have some great themed promo unlocks (Nerf, Rockstar, Monster, Razer) I’m just kinda confused as to why the actual game’s palate was just so dull and lacking. Maybe to pair with the time they’re going for in this season? I dunno, they have some cool ones on the way so I’m kinda excited to see what’s next officially.
Don’t worry about any of that. None of the armor actually does anything, it’s all useless.
…Yes…I know…weve all known this since Halo 3. But we all loved the ability to freely customize armor after unlocking them simply by playing the game after paying for a full game.
The fact that they dont do anything makes buying them even more of a waste of money.
