Not a question of skill

Halo fans, hear me.

I think the DMR is OP. Assaultrifle and stormrifle have the best chance of winning close quarters VS DMR (10 meters).

The battlerifle and Carbine on the other hand(o please what have they done to the carbine!) do not stand a chance, even if someone sneaks up behind you/me with a BR carbine and shoot first the DMR still has a big chance to win(unskilled or skilled there is no difference).

These are my experiances, I win DMR battles, BR battles but i just can’t win with a BR and Carbine VS DMR.

Anyone else has the same problem? For MP sake, i suggest a de-buff.

Long range, DMR is GOD
Mid range, DMR is GOD
Close range, DMR is second, (but still superior to all it’s counterparts)

Reason why i did not mention the light rifle, i have not used it and have not seen it much, too much DMR’s on the ground =P

Just leave the weapons alone!

Nothing needs nerfing/buffing.

Now run along and play!

Weapon sandbox balance = 99% perfect

Changing one weapon means changing them all. I don’t want to go back to 2 second kill times.

I am pointing it out, if you truly understand the game, you know your best chance is to pick the DMR. If that is the case, there is no point in putting the BR and Carbine in MultiPlayer at all.

It is Overpowerd, and if it stays this way, the other weapons will dissapear from matchmaking.

Which is a shame, because there were SO MANY players that wanted the BR back.

Check my K/d then check my most used weapon.

I’m doing just fine BR’ing everyone when they have a DMR.

Try strafing…

Yea i saw your K/D, pretty nice, i’m not doing bad YET either, but i just want to use the Carbine and BR, i’m not doing anything different then in Halo 3 / Reach. Strafing, body shots -> headshot. If you come up against a DMR it just does not work.

Maybe its me, my connection or well the weapons.

I of course blame the guns.

Open nat type,
Green upstream bandwith,
Green download speed, (PC does about 6.5 MB per second average, top is 8 MB)
It is not the connection.

I’m just playing like i did in Halo reach and Halo 3, Strafing body sots headshot.
So, its not that either.

Is there anyone else that has unpleasant situations against the DMR?

How do you strafe? Side to side or in circles?

If you rotate the analog stick without touching the sides you’ll move in an insanely fast circle, add a jump on the 5th shot and BOOM, HEADSHOT (As fps_doug would say).

yea i find the BR to be great and the DMR i see no probs… i think carbine could use a small buff … other than that i like the weps…get better maybe?

I use the DMR but I have the opposite problem online. I’ve played games where the entire other team uses BRs and smokes us horribly. I think it just depends on what you like. I do know the aiming has gotten a hell of a lot easier because I didn’t get triple kill headshots in Reach.

I’m doing really well with the carbine against DMRs. I’m making it my missions to make people cry about how it’s too OP cuz it “shoots too fast” (got 3 people yelling at me to stop using that “cheap gun.”
Also, my FOTUS armor is helping to provoke rage lol.

BR and DMR are both fine as they are, the DMR is the better ranged weapon, but thats intended. The BR has bleedthrough which makes it a -Yoink- when used in a team!

With the BR you can 3 shot PP followed by headshot for a kill.

DMR takes 4 PP before 1 headshot will kill.

Why do forums all jump on the Buff nerf bandwagon within the first week because the game doesnt play how they think it should?

The worse thing is alot of times these days Devs listen to them and wreck a game which was fine in the first place.

For example you could argue that the Carbine needs a buff, but the fact it cant beat DMR 1v1 doesnt mean carbine sucks, carbine is the better teamshooting/support rife. If you were to make all rifles the same 1v1 we would have a pretty boring game. This game is designed around teamplay not 1v1

I am having no problem using the Battle Rifle at all. I mean yeah at a distance I do have to pull out some strafing or make sure i am landing my shots correctly to beat someone with a DMR but that’s just the way the weapons work.(And im talking like Valhalla distance.) It all depends on the weapon you are most comfortable with. You could be just to used to Reach so the Battle Rifle, with its no bloom action and slightly different reticule are something new you have to adjust too. I suggest just using the Battle Rifle against all odds. That is what i have been doing and its been working fine for me.

Guys thanks for the feedback, and the tips, i’ll try my luck again, and turn it into skill.

Best of luck good sir.

Check my stats, Im destroying with the BR.

I too like the BR.

i disagree. i love the dmr but i cant get a damn kill with it. i would have prefered it over the br but i cant get a kill with it. with the br i just own. no dmr for me hahaha

It’s not the DMR - it was the decision to change halo to quick and easy kills.

1 - Casuals get kills
2 - Casuals keep playing
3 - Casuals buy future content.
4 - ???
5 - Profit

Quick kills and single shot weapons make for the best shooters a’la CE.
