Jeff Seitzer has been the Halo announcer since the very beginning of Halo, saying things like “Double Kill”, “Revenge”, and “Killing Spree”. Jeff’s voice overs were awesome and rewarding, and were one of the best parts of the multiplayer.
Halo CE - Halo: Reach
Medals were rewarding and sounded awesome. Jeff’s voice had a snarl to it that was so enjoyable to listen to.
Spree medals rewarded you for 5+ kills with an ordinance weapon. They helped drive players to use certain weapons and mixed up the game play.
Halo 4 and Halo 5
Got rid of spree medals and replaced them with too many useless medals and voice overs. Jeff’s voice is way to “perfect” and lacks the snarl of previous games.
Also got rid of the top medals board.
Voice overs involving like “power weapons in 10 sec” or “attack the enemy” are also annoying. The announcers are talking way too much.
Summary
I loved the old Halo voice overs and medals. You may be able to turn them off in Halo 5, but I want to hear the cool voice overs and see the spree medals return, in exchange for the myriad of useless medals in Halo 5.
