So after grinding this playlist to try and progress through the event challenges for the Blackpool visor, I’ve come to the conclusion that I don’t find this game type very fun. It’s interesting sure. I like the limited lives and the AI revive mechanics, but I find the “danger zone” pointless on any map other than Behemoth.
It probably doesn’t help that I have very limited time to play right now due to mandatory overtime at work and to top it off challenges haven’t been tracking/updating when I complete Attrition games. I’ve already submitted a ticket for it because it’s a challenge to get 5 kills with an AR. That’s so easy to do. In my first game with the challenge I know I had at least 2, but the challenge didn’t update. And after completing more games with confirmed AR kills it still hasn’t changed.
This kinda feels like Breakout from H5, but to my surprise I have to say I liked Breakout way more. I think with some changes this game type could be really fun. Maybe make it more like Breakout, remove shields or radar and make it closer to swat (tactical slayer) with rounds, limited lives and the new revive mechanic. I still don’t think the danger zone is necessary.

I agree on the dangerzone being pointless, and your complaint of the challenges is more a challenge complaint than Attrition.
I don’t think it needs the changes you have suggested but I would like to at least see more rounds added and take away the vehicles as they’re OP in this mode.
Wait until the Kill Zone traps one team on bottom mid and the other on top mid (Behemoth). You just sit there hoping the RNG let’s you win as the Kill Zone collapses on both of you. One thing I would change is add a timer if you are in the Kill Zone like every Halo has ever had, and don’t drop your shields. The Kill Zone got me killed one time cause I had very little time to move inward and it dropped my shields instantly.
I would also not make it like Breakout and especially not like Swat. But, I do feel that Halo’s Power items, some of which are too overpowered, do not work well in a game mode with limited lives. For example, you pretty much need to control the Sword at the start on Recharge or you will likely lose.
its simply a poorly thrown together mode that uses battle royal mechanics theyve probably built first for forge.
gears of war execution with limited respawns would be more fun. you would have to go close to an enemy orb and destroy it to score points. Realyy though, i dont see the point of the orb. Players should just go into a downed state.
