Don’t get me wrong, I like Halo 4 in general. It’s a solidly good game.
Only thing is, the menu redesign. It seems far too clunky for it’s own good, it can be difficult to navigate, and it’s just a mess.
Here’s an example a friend of mine used on another forum. Anyone else agree?
> To illustrate the point of how the menus are objectively bad I’ll use the worst change I know of: team changing. What was the minimum number of button presses and stick movements to change teams in Reach? 1. What is it for H4? 4.

At the very least, they should make Y (which currently does nothing) snap to yourself and make the team select menu wrap around, so going from Red to Cyan can be 1 instead of 7. Or just do what Reach did and make the bumpers switch teams, as they also currently do nothing. There is really no reason to have made it so complicated to change teams.

The problem is that even when knowing how to navigate it, it takes much longer to do so than in any previous Halo. Some parts of that are sacrifices made for looks (like hiding the active roster) and other parts just don’t make any sense (like the team changing). And I don’t think there is anything that is quicker or easier to do in H4’s menus, which means visuals are the only improvement.
