Or, you could just, you know, play the game right? Seriously. Just turn your Xbox on and play. Khaby Lame hands

I think this is probably the most likely scenario. The holiday season on top of Halo’s 20th Anniversary is too alluring of a time frame for them to simply ignore.

Me and the boys already decided we will just meet up, everyone will bring their Xbox and a screen and we’ll go through the campaign together.
Of course we won’t be able to get together in a hog, but we will be sharing what we discover, help each other through tough fights and enjoy the story. Really looking forward to it!
Goofing around like collecting all the fusion coils in a mission to blow a razorback into the quantum verse will have to wait.

Makes me realize that it was never going to actually release last year.
Doesn’t really matter if you delay the game, you’re still waiting more time to just play co op & forge at launch. Even the whole game for that matter.
Id rather just have the game now and enjoy it than wait another 8 months just so I can play the campaign on co op once & never use forge.

It does matter, one will mean less criticism, negative reviews and a better first impression. The other costs potential sales as well as more criticism and negative reviews. They’re just looking to ride them holiday dollars however, I don’t believe they genuinely care about the integrity of their own game.

When have you as the consumer really cared how much money or lost sales a business made? NEVER. With all this complaining, you are all set to complain no matter what regardless if the game ships with/without Co-Op…chill out.

I just mentioned game integrity which this effects, which then effects my own experience. Of course I don’t care about sales but bear in mind, higher sales equate to higher player pools. The money doesn’t go to the players, but the effects of it can👍 Less money= less funding for the next project, less sales= smaller player pools, you gotta look at the bigger picture to actually understand it.
it’ll be interesting to see what state the game is released in, i was originally planning on buying the game on release but the delay(s) and other stuff have changed my mind, will most likely wait to see gameplay on yt and reviews to see how the launch goes…

Oh yea? You think I am not looking at the bigger picture? Do you know how much money it would cost 343i if it was delayed 3 months past the Holiday Season? Do you think that waiting is going to increase player pools? Halo has solde 81 million copies of Halo over its lifetime…there are less than 100,000 people on this forum. You certainly don’t speak for everybody. Also when most people might get this game as a gift for Christmas delaying it past the Holiday season would absolutely wreck sales for the game. You clearly aren’t looking at the largest picture.

I know the biggest picture is each game since halo 3 has dropped in sales too, how’s that one for ya👍 There are various reasons for that too, like lower quality games. Now they don’t even need to care bout that cause F2P with micro transactions for them whales they bout to pick up.

Who really cares about reviews anymore? With GamePass you just have access and can play and make a decision for yourself.
Even with sales, yet again, GamePass & free to play. Physical game sales are much lower than ever before & a lot of people are on GamePass or will be getting it. Digital sales for the game are likely to be lower too.
The only sales that are going to matter are going to be from the in game store - which most people who are buying are going to do so because they like the game.
As for if they care or not. 343i are people, real humans who are making a game they care about and want fans to love. This isn’t just a cash grab of a game.

That analogy actually is terrible. This situation is not like a cheeseburger situation. This is like buying a house but the contractor tells you the study, a room which you CAN use but don’t have to will be ready in a bit after it’s done. Because co-op and forge, like the study in a home, isn’t 100% integral to the home or purchase. It’s an added bonus in the home or in this case, the game.
The no show at gamescon pretty much confirms for me they;
- Have no confidence in the product;
- They feel they might need to delay again.
We’ll see but the scenario where this game will be launched this year feels more unrealistic by the day.

The idiot meter is off the scale due to this ridiculously poor decision to launch without a necessary game feature. This HAS to be in the game. Halo 5 all over again and it’s really destroyed they hype I had for this game. Day one was literally going to be a split-screen fiesta all day. So much for feeling like halo. Guess I’ll just play campaign by myself and have a friend watch or something. So screwed up.

Like the failure of halo 5 to launch without forge killed a lot of the custom game community. It’s these basics that attribute to the lacking success of games during their launches. It’s simply not good enough and is blatantly incompetent. Just because it doesn’t affect you doesn’t give you the right to be an inconsiderate -Yoink-.

The Majority of people play multiplayer and they will be able to enjoy split screen etc. It can’t be helped if it’s not ready. Get over it and either enjoy the game or choose not to play it. Endlessly commenting on here won’t change the facts. However, they haven’t delivered on what they promised for launch. That I agree with, But I can forgive it considering the past 2 years they have been in lockdown which has made things even harder for them.

This is like buying a house but the contractor tells you the study, a room which you CAN use but don’t have to will be ready in a bit after it’s done. Because co-op and forge, like the study in a home, isn’t 100% integral to the home or purchase. It’s an added bonus in the home or in this case, the game.
Oh, the co-op is not the entire campaign but a tiny singular side mission? Oh, it is the full campaign? Then your analogy falls apart. Co-op is like having a furnace and AC. Yeah, you can have a house without them and it will technically work, and you don’t always need a furnace or AC, but it’s really nice to have them when you need them and makes the difference between a nice day at home and going elsewhere for the day.

Sure does. But it’s better than not having a home.
