Nope. This game needs to be delayed AGAIN.

I don’t know if you saw the “343 employee” “dev update” leak on reddit, but it seemed fairly legit.

Even without that, it’s pretty apparent they’re not ready. Every time they show up in a dev update, they look haggard. They’ve already delayed ray-tracing, and announced “not everything from the preview will be fixed by launch.”

Let’s give them the time to make the great game we want, instead of rushing into the third disappointing Halo release in a row.

There’s virtually no consequence of delaying. People will complain and gripe, but there’s not a person who will complain and gripe who will not show up to play next year. And if they actually did delay, the forge announcements they could make along the way to stir up the pot could only heighten the anticipation. I still remember the way forge world was received all those years ago at pax, and I don’t even forge.

Furthermore, fine–release the multiplayer. But reserve the official launch for when forge is ready.

Please tell me another way of getting literally hundreds of
hours of entertainment over a 10 year cycle for a one off 60 dollars, then come back and tell me I don’t understand what 60 dollars is worth.

Halo 5’s current player count is 8600 at its highest month this year. Siege on Steam alone (it’s on all the Xbox’s and Playstations too) was 200,000 at its peak this year.
>
> I wager Halo Infinite’s plug gets pulled 3-5 years in when the player base has all switched back to CoD, Battlefield, Siege and whatever new games have come out by then.

Halo 5 was never advertised or supported as a live service game.

Imagine justifying the purchase of an unfinished product for any amount of money

Thanks again for proving how much of a mark you are.

Your parents should stop giving you money.

I know for sure, even though Halo is my favorite game, that if they release only multiplayer, I will be playing something else by the time 6 months come around to play Forge. It needs to be on release for me.

Can’t answer the question, resorts to insults. I wonder which of us is young enough for pocket money from our parents.

If you cant see how I answered your question then you really need a cut to your allowance until you get a better grade in English Literature.

Thanks for tacitly admitting Halo Infinite is an unfinished product bud, good job.

Avoidance again. ‘You just don’t understand’ isn’t the clever comeback you think it is, it’s deflection when you want to argue but don’t have anything to say.

Let’s try again:

  • what else gives 10 years supported entertainment value for $60?
  • Live service does not equal ‘unfinished’. Do you understand what ‘10 years live service’ is?

Right, but the reality is the Halo community has certain standards that many of us expect to have met. Forge changed Halo upon its introduction, and we expect that to be part of a Halo game, at launch. It’s a culture thing. To say that forge will be “added later” is to say that the game will be released later, which introduces a dissonance to players who expect their Halo package to be complete at launch because the devs are telling us they’re launching now, but releasing forge later.

Forge is part of the game.

Customs is part of the game.

Forge art is part of the community.

Acting like these are “side” additions is unacceptable. “Live service” is fine. Adding forge later as part of a “live service” is not. It’s disrespectful to the community, and it’s disrespectful to the reality of what Halo is, which is to a good number of players, a creative outlet.

Part of what makes Halo special is that it’s so much more than a shooter. They should delay the game.

To many players, they are a side addition. You will get your features, at a later date. As part of the live service. You are not being disrespected by any means - they are working on these features for you. They just won’t be ready at launch.

Should everybody be forced into another delay for features that are optional for playing through the campaign?
I don’t think so, 343 are making the right call.

Yes. They should.

I don’t forge, and I haven’t co-op’ed in years. Forge is integral to what Halo is, and more than that, it’s important that this game releases surrounded by a sense that justice is being done to the Halo franchise.

Forge is nice, and yes, every Halo game is better with it.
Does it matter that it comes a few months after launch? What difference does it make? It’s one of the least integral features to the campaign, so why delay the campaign?

Yeah no, it’s just an excuse. It’s a terrible model and I can’t wait for when consumers are done with it like many other things we’ve put our foot down for.

Lick the boot all you want, but many unlike yourself don’t like getting a worse deal just because “it’s a model”. What a joke.

To say that forge will be “added later” is to say that the game will be released later, which introduces a dissonance to players who expect their Halo package to be complete at launch because the devs are telling us they’re launching now, but releasing forge later.

> Forge is nice, and yes, every Halo game is better with it.
> Does it matter that it comes a few months after launch? What difference does it make? It’s one of the least integral features to the campaign, so why delay it?

Because the game needs to launch with a sense of fanfare and carnival. It’s really hard to sell that when key features that players know and love are being left out.

Would you open a movie theater without popcorn?

Why? That’s lame.

You could wait six months, or a year, and open that theater with popcorn and all its appropriate accoutrements and not lose anything because it doesn’t exist yet.

Fans disappointed by a delay now will only get more excited for a release later, especially when they start releasing forge tidbits leading up to launch. Forge world was an absolute bomb [in a good way] when they announced it leading up to release.

But open the movie theater now, and anybody expecting to eat popcorn at their movie is going to be disappointed. And who knows if they wander back six months later when the theater finally does quietly announce that it’s, “Now serving popcorn!”

Who cares? You missed the moment.

Halo 5’s current player count is 8600 at its highest month this year. Siege on Steam alone (it’s on all the Xbox’s and Playstations too) was 200,000 at its peak this year.

That’s exactly how the multiplayer functioned though. Missing game modes, missing features at launch, stuff being patched in, free updates, etc. The only difference with Infinite is that it’s free-to-play as if that will save it. Good job disregarding everything else though.

> Silly.

No… what’s more ridiculous is accepting half a physical copy of a game just because some people were too impatient to wait till the game is finished. Yeh good luck playing those games with all the content when the digital store goes down someday.

Lay off the Caffeine son.

343i has always been consistent, keeping the community in the dark since it took over, releasing a broken game MCC collection and now no forge or co-op lol
they cannot delay any longer and miss the holiday cash…another 343 opportunity missed…6 months before I can play Pit !lets face it, anyone who has been on the Halo journey is not surprised one bit !

oh yeah let me just take my hundreds of employees, millions of dollars in equipment, backing by microsoft, a franchise that is 20 years old, and make a new game that has taken a studio 6 years, two of which during a pandemic, of work to make a game with a super capable new engine. let me just go quickly do that right now.

your argument is stupid. just because you can’t make something better than someone else doesn’t mean you cannot criticize that. oh your house just collapsed after a light wind? well you can’t criticize the builders unless you make a house.
