You can do one of two things, download the game after Co-Op is released…or Play it Day 1 like we all know you will regardless of the complaining. I am sure 343 has their reasons.
The campaign is not apart of the free to play package. You have to buy the campaign. Why pay for an incomplete game? If multiplayer is free and it’s basically good to go, great. I think its wrong to charge $60 for an incomplete experience.

Agreed. The campaign should be delayed until it’s actually a complete product.
Before anyone says, “It’s Infinite! It will never be completed”, it’s not mutually exclusive to have expansions and being feature complete at launch.
I guess I’ll put this here also to wake people up …
Plain and simply put for everyone, Halo Infinite is UNFINISHED, I’ll say it again. UNFINISHED. I have waited an extra year even (because of the delay) to play co-op with my brother and son. If anyone remembers Halo 2 and Halo 3 and Halo reach were at the peak of the Halo franchise, and do you know why? co-op, custom games and forge, not to mention a FINISHED campaign. Not a continuous campaign that has story added every few months. And they wonder why Halo is/was dying. Those games were worth $60. Halo infinite is turning into Halo 5, hell even a cyberpunk massacre. When is the current industry going to learn we are tired of this. Finish the yoinking game before you ever even put a release date on it. and those of you saying just don’t touch campaign for three months it won’t get spoiled… did you just wake up today or? Everything gets spoiled anymore. Every bit of Halo news that we ALL Keep up with after the game releases Will be spoilers and 343 will act like nothing ever happened and continue to either delay things or even worse come out and say ,"sorry we can’t actually get co-op to work but here’s forge!, Oh and whatever problems multiplayer has we will get fixed in the coming months… ". I say hell no, we demand a finished game before release. I am all for 343 and their hard work. But enough is enough. I have a job too, if I do half My job by the time it’s supposed to be done I don’t get my full paycheck. If Halo Infinite needs more time then delay it or you can wait on my money and time spent on your game. Give us the entire game we have been waiting on that looks absolutely beautiful because of your hard work 343 or delay it until then.

Anything that’s relative to the campaign is not free. The multi-player is free but everything else is not. Look how Destiny 2 operates. It’s free to play BUT to enjoy the game to the full potential, you need to drop some cash.

What I mean is, when you purchase the campaign, you get whatever updates they do for free afterwards.
In other words: any addon, even if fundamentally an unfinished feature, will be added free of extra charge. It’s like a college tuition covering several of the services at your school, such as tutoring and library access.

Probably maybe free, but when?
I have to guess that if it wasn’t delayed in the first place we would still be waiting for it now? Too long a wait.
So I’d then guess that its paid dlc, and it’s being held back, or in the case of firefight, replaced with something else, also paid dlc.
But multiplayer is free.
I would wait as long as it takes for a complete GOOD halo infinite, not how halo 5 launched. I’d wait another year.
Let’s look at this from a different perspective, for fun.
Let’s face it, this pandemic sucks. Yeah
Maybe 343 didnt enable coop campaign to make sure people cant congregate.
Maybe if they release with anything, free multi will keep everybody away from each other, playin HALO
Instead of getting everybody sick
Nah I’m just insane.

Why would they delay an entire game over a few features that will probably launch soon after? People can wait to buy if all they want is forge or coop.

It’s a live service game. The 60 dollars gets you the upcoming features for the next 10 years, including co op when it is ready. That’s a worse deal than a one off 60 dollars with no further updates included?

You know what else was a 10 year service game? Anthem. How did that model and 10 year plan work out?
What do you figure happens to the Halo Infinite 10 year plan when the player count is non-existent in 2023 and 2024? Halo 5 was supposedly live service and it died in a year or two. Halo 5’s current player count is 8600 at its highest month this year. Siege on Steam alone (it’s on all the Xbox’s and Playstations too) was 200,000 at its peak this year.
I wager Halo Infinite’s plug gets pulled 3-5 years in when the player base has all switched back to CoD, Battlefield, Siege and whatever new games have come out by then.

Except it wasn’t meant to be…they were planning to double the charge of xbox live and they had no intention of letting people play F2P without paying for gold till the complaints. Also being ‘free’ doesn’t criticism and Halo Infinite is not entirely free, if you mean ‘game pass’ then that is also not free because it’s not a free service.

> I genuinely feel bad for 343, as they obviously did not want this to happen, and the blowback has to suck. But yeah, idk….6 years.
Without reading through this entire thread, I’m sure a lot of fans are sharing in this sentiment while directing frustration to 343. For myself, I don’t feel the same disappointment because I am a nearly strict PvP multiplayer fan and I like to run through the campaigns solo. I’m sure a lot of the data 343 has from prior Halo’s and MCC reveals those delayed components are by far the most underused, although the fans of them are being vocal here.
I’m sad for those of you long-time Halo fans upset by the news. This is certainly not something we are all used to from the original trilogy of releases.
I’m now firmly believing that what has caused so many problems for 343 is basically trying to make 3 games at the same time - PC, new Xbox, past gen Xbox. And they have to all be able to run crossplay with one another. Making one game run compatible across three forms of hardware can’t be easy. I can’t help but think it would’ve been smarter for them
to just develop the game for next gen only then work backwards for other hardware capability. Keep
that in mind when referencing the time period required for this game’s development. Bungie never pursued such an aggressive development concept such as this one, and for the most part Halo 2 and Halo 3 were fairly similar in terms of engine feel.
The continued bad news on the game really has me worried for what we will see at launch. Also extremely concerning to me is the total lack of campaign footage other than the footage that led to a year-long delay of the game. I can’t recall any of the prior halo games having such a dearth of campaign footage mere months before launch.
I’m cautiously optimistic. I hope 343 delivers a flawless product.
So you’d rather delay the entire product than just delay two features. Either way you’ll be waiting months. Might as well be able to play the campaign and multiplayer and wait for forge and Co op than wait for everything.

Not silly. Forge matters.
Halo 5 released pretty one-dimensional due to its lack of forge, and it missed out in whole heaps of potential forgers and interest because of that.
Forge has helped make Halo what it is, through forge art, machinima, custom games and maps, even mlg maps.
It allows Halo to be a creative outlet in a way most games aren’t, and that aspect is a huge part of what has made this community unique and Halo special.
Red vs. Blue wouldn’t exist as it does without forge. You wouldn’t have grifball. Even something as simple as infection.
Saying that it’s silly to call for a delay without forge is silly. Forge is a part of Halo, and has likely and largely touched a great many more players than even realize it.

Forge is important, yes. I use it all the time. It is more important than the core campaign and mutiplayer modes? Lol, no.
Calling for the entire game to be delayed when campaign and mutiplayer are ready to go only because forge isn’t ready is flat out silly. I can’t take that hot take seriously.
