This is absolutely ridiculous. You’ve had 6 years to develop this game but you can’t have campaign co-op or forge at launch? What the hell is happening with this studio? This can’t be another Halo 5 situation 343, it just can’t be.

While I agree, the 6 years argument it actually kind of false, as it took them 3 of that 6 years just to finish the Slipspace engine. They did not really start making the game until at least 2018.
I agree. I knew something like this was going to happen.
Go make your own game that will be comparable. Bet its easy!
I’ll buy the game when it’s got coop. Halo 2…3 years after halo CE launched. Halo 3…3 years after halo 2 launched. Halo Reach…3 years after halo 3 launched (and ODST the year before.) Infinite….6 years after halo 5….no coop at launch lol
I genuinely feel bad for 343, as they obviously did not want this to happen, and the blowback has to suck. But yeah, idk….6 years.

What a dumb response. “I don’t know how to make a car, so I can’t be angry if its missing air bags”.
They simply need to delay again. We can’t have a Halo 5 launch again.

“How dare you complain that this car has no brakes, no headlights and no steering wheel. Go make your own car that will be comparable. Bet its easy!”
One does not need to be able to build something by oneself to be allowed to complain that a product is missing essential features.
100% Agree as I would think most Hardcore Halo Fans would also not want a Half baked game.
While I do think it is unfortunate for these features to be included, I think that there will be plenty to play and do in the first 3 months before coop is added, and 6 months before forge is added. There will be battle passes to progress, weekly challenges and fracture events to participate in, an entirely new non linear campaign to play through, and plenty of memories to be made. Im sure the features will be worth the wait, but I see no real reason why we shouldn’t play the features that are already finished while we wait for the unfinished ones to be completed. Just my opinion, I am sure many will disagree.
Y’all are some pathetic spoiled brats.
I look forward to playing forge but I’m not throwing a tantrum over not getting it day 1. The game, like they said, will never be truly finished. They are choosing to launch it when its core stuff is done. You’ll get your precious co-op and whatever later. No more delaying the game.

This right here. As long as the single player campaign and multiplayer modes are actually finished and polished, there is no reason to delay the entire game just to wait on forge and co-op. Does it suck? Yeah. Should these features be there at launch? Yeah. But as long as they aren’t rushing out an unfinished campaign and half–Yoinked!- multiplayer just to make the Holiday launch, I say launch the finished pieces and update as the other pieces are completed.

I highly doubt people want another cyberpunk 2077 game. LOL
So, I hope people look into this a bit more when it comes to a reasoning for it not being delayed and why MS and 343 are essencially a rock in a hard place.
MS wants GOTY for 2021. Its the beginning of the new generation and Sony realistically only has 2 contenders or, 2 obvious contenders (returnal and Ratchet). MS is going to want as many games as they can on that list and currently, those look to be psychonauts 2 (which is cross platform), forza (which is a racing game so is almost always omitted) and Halo.
They have to weight the risk rewards of keeping Halo in 2021 and or delaying it. Realistically, the risks to Halo if its not delayed are not that major as long as the multipler and the single player itself are good experiances. Missing co-op and forge are 100% a big deal, but we also exist in a reality where sea of thieves and no man sky are extremely successful. If the core experiances are good, MS is willing to bank on player openess to delayed features if it means they get more potential to win GOTY in 2021. Doing so sets them on the pace they need and their marketing plans for GP in 2022. There is more to gain if MS gets GOTY. Realistically, even without co-op and forge, as long as the multiplayer has plenty of modes (social and ranked) and the campaign is considered good or great, they have that chance.
I disagree. They shouldn’t delay the entire game just for a mode and co-op feature. I agree that it really sucks, I was looking forward to doing campaign with a friend, but why should everything else be pushed back just for 2 things?

I seriously hope that MS disbands and shuts down 343i all together and forms a new studio for Halo or hand it over to Coalition or Id Software. 343 haven’t made a great Halo in a decade and their incompetence is getting pretty apparent.

Great argument, I’m not a game developer pal. The fact that you feel the need to defend this is pathetic. I do feel bad for the developers though, I’m more upset at Microsoft tbh. I didn’t care about Elites or Assassinations being there launch but these are KEY FEATURES.
It makes you wonder with the recent information on what Infinite would’ve looked like had it launched last year.
While I agree with OP to a extent, this halo seems like more of a live service. So I’m actually ok with it at the moment. If this wasn’t a live service and more like h1-5 then yea I would say delay. But I have a feeling it’s gonna be like destiny with constant major updates every year.

Bro stop being such a shill. Many people aren’t gonna wait months after launch to play the things they’ve wanted since day 1. This game isn’t gonna be as successful as they hoped if they don’t launch with these things, this happened with Halo 5 too.
If solo campaign, solo multiplayer, and split screen multiplayer truly are in a great state for all platforms right now, then I wholeheartedly agree with 343 that they should launch what they have this year add forge and campaign coop in the first few seasons.
Forge yields the most ROI for both players and 343 once the game has been around a while anyway.
Campaign couch coop not being in at launch sucks, but I think that’s been worth them making sure Infinite is viable on a vanilla XBO console. I think it’s awesome they’re taking care of players who don’t have the means for an upgrade so as many people get to enjoy Halo as possible
