Noobie Revelation...

It’s all about the head shots in Halo 4. Nobody ever said that… :=( which is part of the reason I would lose so many battles (besides being a noob and taking my lumps like a man).

It has always been about headshots. I once played with a friend who only plays CoD & FIFA, he has never played Halo before. Then suddenly after a minute in the game he starts yelling: “How do you always get headshots?!”… Pretty funny actually… Of course you can’t get headshots with automatic weapons though.

I noticed that you can raise your shots to hit the person in the head with an automatic weapon, which I hope also lowers their shields faster. However, I rarely use automatic weapons except for the SAW, whenever I can get my hands on one!

NOTE: Getting head shots just starting out isn’t as easy as it looks. Some of you guys are pretty good!!!

And this is why I have no sympathy for people whining about how ‘OMG, BR loses to DMR, DMR is OP’D!!’.

I like the AR. I’ve always liked the AR. Halo 4 has the best sound and feel for an AR yet, so it’s incredibly annoying when the poor thing loses pretty much every encounter because, oh look; all those other weapons can headshot!

BR user has to punch an AR user once, then headshot. Exact same for DMR or whatever. The fact the BR trumps all the supposed mid-close range weapons make the complaining a bloody joke.

Never a fun thing to run into -_-

Use the campaign and SpOps to hone your skills. Try and use the headshot weapons in those as much as possible to get the hang of the weapon.

Some tips for getting better:
-It is a 5 shot kill for the DMR, BR, and light rifle. This means it takes 4 trigger pulls to drop the enemy’s shields and 1 headshot to kill.
-It takes 3 body shots to kill an unshielded spartan in Halo4.
-Headshotting someone from behind is extremely difficult in this game.
-When in a 1v1, aim for the chest for the first 4 shots, they flick the stick up for the final headshot. (I’m still learning how to do this.)
-If you don’t know, learn how to strafe. It is a very important skill and will allow you to defeat two or even three enemies at once.
-Play custom games with your friends. The best environment for learning is with people who you have fun with.
-The BR has the most aim assist, the DMR has the fastest fire rate, and the LR has the strongest shot at range. Make sure to use them for their roles. But also remember, the DMR is just slightly the best loadout rifle for now.

Hope some of this helps!

By the way, the assault rifle is also a great weapon. A few days ago I got almost unassisted triple kills using the AR alone on back to back games. Just remember, it’s a specialized weapon. If you get someone in close quarters or you’re running with teammates on certain maps it’s very powerful.
