Noob combo all the way.
Sword, definitely. Shotgun 2nd.
Depends on which Reach game mode. For Firefight, especially Firefight Arcade, the Fuel Rod is a noob weapon. Have three other players blind your screen with green to the point of getting a migrane because they blast everything insight, including you with it. Even though it doesn’t damage you in that variant, it makes it hard to see and is very, very headache inducing. To add insult to injury, most players who do this die 11-18 times during one game and usually do not get top score anyways.
In matchmaking Slayer games and BTB however, the Sniper Rifle in my opinion is the noob weapon. I cannot express how many times I have seen people hide in/around a corner to no-scope others point blank and get kills that way time and time again, especially if that player has Armor Lock to defend themselves against grenades. A shotgun doesn’t have much reach and is kind of intended for this, but Sniper Rifle bullets go through Spartans, meaning that player could line up multikills doing this, which I have seen happen.
Didn’t get to vote, sadly - but would’ve voted for plasma launcher. That gun’s tracking ability is insane. I’ve had stickies track people across maps and go through walls to kill people.

I actually use the fuel rod in firefight because my brother and I always try to beat each other but is it a noob weapon?Yes.Of course with all the new players coming to reach you’ll have a heart attack when in a firefight game.Quoting what I first mentioned I do use the fuel rod but I like the sniper class more I forgot the classes name I don’t play firefight a lot.

The issue is when these players aim at other players and blind their screen with so much green so they can not see, and I have had many games where players did this intentionally. That is what makes that noobish in Firefight. I prefer to use the Operator Loadout (Armor Lock, Shotgun, Grenade Launcher) loadout and trick shot with the grenade launcher as well as use the shotgun for close combat, and armor lock for point blank grenade sticking.
This is why I stick to Anniversary Firefight when playing with a friend and set the search setting to the most strict as 90% of the time, nobody else loads in and we can have our fun without getting a migrane from so much green. Either we will go with Arcadefight and he will choose the Sniper loadout and I will choose the Operator Loadout, or we will do Fistfight or Fiestafight.
Of course when in Regular Firefight, my friends and I would choose Waterfront whenever it would come up. It is fun, and provides a good challenge to Operator and Sniper loadouts, but is very punishing to people who use the Fuel Rod loadouts, and those players typically quit not too long after the game starts due to it. We also learned to run towards players who intentionally shoot and blind us with Fuel Rod Cannons so they more or less commit suicide. If you think about it, when players intentionally blind other players so they can’t play the game, it is unsporting and griefing.

Plasma pistol fully charge, then shoot them in the head with a magnum, needle rifle, or dmr.

100% true, when I do use the fuel rod I use it on maps like holdout because it’s open. When players intentionally blind people with any type of rocket, it becomes annoying and hard to play (especially for snipers like myself).
