Nobody ever compares Halo 5 to Destiny or COD

One thing I find interesting when I read these forums is that nobody ever compares Halo 5 to Destiy or COD. This game only seems to be compared to other Halos in this community.
When I bought my new flatscreen TV, I didn’t compare it to tube televisions that were out 10 years ago. I compared it to other flatscreens that were currently out in the market. I also didn’t expect a company to cone out with a tube television currently that was more aesthetically pleasing. Just because a company sold 10 million tube TV’s ten years ago, doesn’t mean they should sell them currently. You have to look at what the market is doing and going. You might not neccessarily agree with that for Halo, but it plays a factor.
When I look at Halo 5, I compare it to other FPS that are out currently. For me, Halo 5 is better than the rest. I would rather load up Halo 5 and play a game of Warzone Asaault than anything that Destiny or COD has to currently offer.Granted this is a forum for Halo 5 and there is some biased there, but I hope you get what I’m saying.

How would you compare Halo 5 to Destiny or COD?

Edit: Excuse my grammar, quickly wrote this on my lunch break.

I’m pretty sure people compare Halo 5 to Call of Duty and Destiny all the time. It’s just that threads like those tend to devolve into developer bashing from all sides, and no one gets anywhere.

The Removal of HD Will Make Halo Halo Again.

I would just like to read some new comparisons to the game other than Halo 5 doesn’t “_" like Halo "”. To me it’s not as relative, maybe I think differently.

Lol that’s a new one. On the flip side, do you think Halo will ever be a virtual reality game?

Actually the laziest complaint for Halo over the years has been comparing it to COD. People still say it all the time. Maybe a little less now because they realize how lazy it is.

I’m not agree. 60 FPS on Halo, it’s amazing. I don’t want a porridge of pixels on my screen.

Haha I couldn’t resist. But for VR, I actually think Halo could totally be a VR game…but in a different part of the universe: like a ship commander making tactical decisions or a scientist investigating a Flood outbreak on a colony. VR has shown that–while expansive in view–it is very restrictive in movement without maximizing both the hardware and computing setups. However, a different side of the Halo conflicts that caters to VR’s movement limitations and visual advantages could be incredible (and both of the above examples might actually go well with MS Hololens). I really hope they bring the universe to VR!

Haha I was just riffing on those sprint removal threads. Wasn’t serious, as I thank my pixelated stars for HD Halo every time I fire up the game.

I’m not understanding the lazy aspect? Are there more energetic complaints?

but people compare halo to COD every single day.

I’m constantly using Destiny by way of comparison to this game. For obvious reasons. Bungie. FPS. Huge following. Etc. For me you don’t have to look at Destiny very hard to see how absolutely amazing Halo is. Many of Halo’s most controversial aspects (microtransactions and “incomplete at launch”) may not compare favorably to past Halos, but compared to Destiny? Halo rolls over Destiny and leaves it for dead. And yet somehow Destiny continues to soldier on at or near the top of the xbl most-played list month after month, and people keep plowing ridiculous amounts of money into the expansions. So Bungie commits these sins, to far greater degrees than 343, and for it they’re punished with huge success. Halo commits those sins to a far lesser degree and the fans behave as if the developer tried to -Yoink!- them. I don’t get it. I never will. But I’ll keep bringing it up on these forums until I’m blue in the face.

That would be interesting. A new way also to incorporate lore into the game.

Well it is really heavy on RNG based progression like Destiny and is killing most of its original fanbase like COD. So I would say they are pretty similar.

Believe it or not, there are people who believe that because there is a button that makes you hold the gun in a different way compared to usual, that this entire game is, in fact, a Call of Duty game.

This ^^^ lol, exactly!!! This basically sums everyhting up. To add to yours, all the content updates for Halo have been free. I don’t see COD or Destiny doing that on a regualr basis. There is not forge in either one of the games. Destiny just got custom games for crying out loud. It boggles my mind as well.

Yeah true, as they seem to be trying to build out their lore tree aggressively. It’d also be a way to service longtime fans with signature game moments that are now experienced in VR. For example, the ubiquitous holographic map call-up in cutscenes would be a “whoa!” moment for us to call up in VR the first time. And imagine being a scientist guarded by Marines and Spartans in a Silent Cartographer-esque beach landing (or that entire level from the perspective of discoverer-type character).

What do you thinh of Halo 5 to COD?

I would guess that it is compared to other halos because H5 is a Halo game. One that is far different than it predecessors.

Halo gets compared to CoD all the time. it’s lessened here but elsewhere its always a comparison.

Halo gets clamber, sprint, ground pound, and slide people say its trying to be CoD. Lets ignore that those very same things are in Mario.
