Noble Map Pack

First glance impression:

I like it. It seems to continue the tradition of earlier multiplayer maps, where they were inspired by locations from the campaign but not explicitly drawn from them, and I appreciate that return to form. Tempest in particular looks very interesting, in large part due to its setting. Anchor 9, in concept, seems reminiscent of Orbital, though I doubt they’ll have the same layout. Breakpoint looks like it’ll be engaging for Invasion matches, throw in a bit of variety for that, and that’s something I can get behind.

Overall, hopeful outlook on this. Will be purchasing when it comes out.

I’m very interested in ‘Tempest’, as it’s a symmetrical BTB map, and it looks far better than any of the ones we’ve already got. I love the look of the terrain, and the amount of variety in terms of cover, routes, etc. I also like that you can’t see directly from one side to , like you can in Blood Gulch. There’s a lot more cover, which means the DMR won’t kill map movement like it does on BG.

I like the new maps… ¨Tempest¨ looks like that it was built form the other side of ForgeWorlds mountain whith a desert theme. Anchor 9 looks like a new map based on Orbitals and Zelots enviorment, in space. And BreackPoint looks like a multiplayer map based on Glacier. And i hope that at least one of them will be suited for invasion like Spire and Boneyard.

It all looks like it’s Forerunner, what I’d love to see, but probably won’t happen yet, is for areas of Foregeworld to be unlocked. But I’ll still take maps. I’d also like some Firefight content.

Agreed. It gives me a ‘Containment’ sort of feeling. Looks far better than any BTB map we’ve got at the moment.

I really am looking forward to Anchor 9 and Breakpoint.

Tempset seems like a small Forge World. Like if they just released Paridiso and called that a map. For now, I’m not really at all impressed, but maybe when it comes out I’ll be proven wrong.

I think Tempest will work a lot better than Paradiso. One of the main reason Paradiso doesn’t work as much is because the battle is divided around the mountain, so there’s no focus. On Tempest on the other hand, most of the battle will be focused through the beachhead.

Unless you’re playing a Snipers match. Then everyone just fights over control of the top of the mountain.

Good point. I’m really excited about Tempest though. I do think it’ll recreate som of that ‘Containment’ feeling.

Lol. That’s why I like Paradiso. Sight lines aren’t direct. Enjoy big team games on it.

Yeah, I don’t mind Paradiso as much anymore either, but I know there’s a lot that don’t like it. But I think Tempest will offer cover to break those sightlines too, as well as the layout. With the DMR on spawn, broken lines of sight allow for greater map movement. I hope, lol.

I was actually really surprised at the sudden announcement of the Noble Map Pack. Unlike Halo 3’s Heroic Map Pack, Noble was never really hinted at or anything.

Anywho, the maps look really cool. There definitely needs to be some more Invasion maps :wink:
