Noble Map Pack is 1 year old

The Noble map pack came out exactly one year ago today. (I remember because it’s my birthday)

Whats my point? I’m just saying had this been any other big title such as CoD or Gears it would have been supported more frequently. Had this been another big title we would have had 20 maps and we would have got them about 5 times. I really don’t like how the DLC was handled for Reach or for Halo in general. Over a year and a couple months after launch and we still only have 11 new multiplayer maps… Which came in 3 different packs one of which only happened so a new game could be released… Please hear me out… Halo 4 needs to be supported with new maps at least every few months. Every couple months would more so hit the spot. A game like Reach can’t keep up when games like Battlefield are giving out free maps and gears of war gives out booster packs for matchmaking so you don’t even need the DLC to play maps plus everyone gets 2 maps for free.

What I’m trying to say is… Matchmaking support is good but it’s not enough to keep players excited. Better DLC support for Halo 4 or it’ll get lost in the sea of other games DLC.

First of all happy birthday dude!
Well i actually don’t like the idea of so much DLC every couple of months. 'Cause not every player will download this whole load of maps and then this “you don’t have the required maps to play this or that” -Yoink- will happen again but that’s just my opinion…

Quality > Quantity.
Halo maps are (for the most part) well thought out and have been designed carefully. Whereas Cod’s weekly instalments are normally poor to average maps. Taking time to create a couple of good maps is much better than creating loads of bad-average maps.
Just my opinion on it.

While I agree to a point I disagree that Halo has had much success in the maps department since Halo 2. And Halo 2 had lots of map so I’m just putting 2 and 2 together here. Reach doesn’t have quality or quantity. The best map through the first 2 DLCs was Highlands. All of the other maps weren’t that great. AND the more you think out a Halo map the more you ruin it. Halo maps need to be basic symmetrical style maps. Over think a Halo map and it goes from great to garbage Lockout/Blackout and Zanzibar/Last Resort come to mind. And who says you can’t have both quality and quantity. With the assistance of Certain Affinity it shouldn’t be hard to churn good maps out at a decent rate. Even if they are bad quality… the way I look at it is that we get more maps even if they suck I’d rather have 20 ok maps than 2 good maps and a few other ok DLC maps.

The quality/quantity thing doesn’t work with Halo considering Halo 2 had a healthy dose of maps and both DLC and launch maps were probably the best maps that will ever be on a single game.

QFT - I miss those days of loving 99% of the maps I played on… Mixed that with fun gameplay mechanics and you got yourself unlimited amounts of FUN!

I agree with the dude above this post. And as for CoD… At least IW had enough sense to launch the game with a healthy amount of maps. 16 is amazing in todays market. Reach felt like a the Reach beta with a map pack. It’s sad.

Oh Jesus, please 343i do not release maps every 2 months for Halo 4. The DLC for COD games is the biggest rip off ever, and that’s coming from a guy who bought all of them for Black Ops. -.-

Happy birthday and Merry Christmas dude

They are fine dude… And I hope you didn’t like the Halo map packs because the peeps at CA made maps for both Halo and CoD. If you had CA work on some map packs and 343 work on others then everything would be all good. Even if it was every 3-4 months. We just need more DLC or DLC more often. Halo Reach killed itself when it came to this.

The Noble map pack also brought us the dreaded achievement:

You Ate All The Chips.

Just one flaw I see with you entire logic. # of map pack released =/= Support for the game. MW2 had tons of maps, but little patches or even a devoted team trying to make the online game play enjoyable. Reach was like this for a long time too. But know they have teams of people trying to make reach a better game.

On the topic of weather or not the DLC maps are any good or not, I feel I do not need to comment on that since every one has different opinions.
