Noble Intention is a prime example why no one wants to play this game

I’m not trying to be one of those people who complains a lot, but this is so frustrating. We release an event for players to come play and grind out for some new content. GREAT! Why are the challenges called weekly challenges BUT they are literally the easiest challenges known to man, there is no reward here, there is no satisfaction with this system. I completed this entire 10 tier battle pass in an HOUR, I have the video on my stream, the challenges are far too easy, they are too simple. You might as well hand the players the content, there’s just no point. 20 Kills with a BR Challenge, play 3 games, etc. These aren’t weekly challenges these are daily challenges. This game so desperately needs a progression system on top of a challenging and rewarding battle pass system. One game that does great with this is Apex Legends. I genuinely want to see Halo thrive and be rewarding and keep people coming back for more, but with just hand out challenges and things like that I don’t see it going much further.

The challenges on noble intentions did seem a bit easy. I think I did it in a handful of games also. It was a fun event and would love to see them keep this around and keep rotating maps from forge creators as these are some awesome maps. I’m not sure how hard/easy challenges should be honestly but certainly there should be some middle ground. Playing 3 pvp games is a little too easy and shouldn’t be really getting much for that. Although “get 100 kills with a disruptor while doing a curbside on behemoth while using an over shield at 1-3am EST” could be a bit much. I think they should make it somewhat of a challenge though so I hear you to some degree. I enjoyed grinding through the battle pass as it gave me some objective to keep going for. some kind of progression system would be sweet to keep us all more motivated to play more and hopefully pick up a more steady player base to improve halo in general.

Well given the system implemented into the game with just 3-4 challenges being active at the time, they just can’t make challenges like get 100k personal score, get 1000 headshots etc. because no one would unlock anything then since even if you would manage to complete them, there would be another dozen of similar challenges to complete.

Maybe if there was an actual XP system added to those events, there could just be more challenges, like 30 instead, but again, with current implementation it’s just 1 challenge=1 tier.

So there’s not much they can do about it until the whole system gets a redesign.

As for the challenges themselves, after the awful previous two weeks, we finally got challenges that don’t force you to play specific game modes you don’t even like (minus BTB for weekly ultimate), you can do them on Slayer, you can do them in objective modes, in Fiesta, in BTB, everywhere, and this is really the way to go if you ask me.

So given all the above, the first thing I’d change personally is that all challenges are active the whole time, and can be done simultaneously. Then you could extend the challenges requirements, make them actually challenging, like get 1k headshots, get 100k score, get 5k kills or assists etc. something that you can complete while playing your favorite modes but at the same time something that does require time and effort.

The challenges are too easy, combined with the FOMO aspect of it all, which makes it not work. The challenges should be harder and here to stay. What if someone who loved the Carter shoulders is unable to play these next 2 weeks because of work/family/holiday? He/she can never get these ever again. It makes no sense.

All these battle passes should be part of a progression system like Reach or a loot system like Halo 5.

I still don’t think Halo Infinite is the right game for a live service game.

The problem is hardly anybody wants to play because the game is broken. If they make the challenges actually challenging, then the few people that are mindlessly running around just to show off their Halo barbie dolls won’t want to play anymore either.

Broken game is broken.

This game is so broken, it is frustrating to try to complete even “easy” challenges. I had horrible time in matches yesterday with controller aim assist/sensitivity bug, desync, and high ping rubberbanding everywhere I was close to uninstalling out of rage. Simple things I can do in other games is hair-pullingly miserable in Halo Infinite.

Only getting progress in a few challenges rather than the potential EXPLOSIAN of XP and creds on a particularly good match makes Infinite feel static. I’m not earning anything, or making progress towards anything. I hate half the armour, and what I want is a timed exclusive for this stupid “free pass” that’s been cut from the pass I actually paid for. Stop making half seasons, and fix the game or stop having seasons. Mixing and matching, especially when S2 has run so much longer than intended killed any reason to play this bugged game.

Been saying this for the last 15 months: Copy MCC.

  1. The challenges aren’t intrusive. They have broad requirements that can be accomplished in a variety of modes.

  2. They are genuinely challenging. Things like finish with a positive k/d, or finish in the top 3 are some of my favorites.

  3. You can advance all of them at the same time. There is no challenge slots. And because of this, the 1 week time limit works better since you don’t have easy stuff blocking the hard stuff.

People complained before about the challenges being too difficult/tedious/bad so they made them easy. I personally think it probably is better this way for these little events.

Why do challenges have to be grindy? Isn’t that like the biggest complaint of F2P games these days?

They already changed the challenges to be less grindy as well, I respect that they made them take less time.

Indeed so… Too grindy will alienate a lot of players who no longer have large amounts of time to play. Halo 5 Achilles burned a lot of players out

They do seen a bit too easy. How ever atleast they are not game specific and don’t require you to win.

Ok, first we complain about getting easier challenges. But now we want Harder challenges??? Make Up your minds!!!

I feel like you’re joking but in case you aren’t, or for other people reading that don’t realise you are joking. There is such a thing as an over correction. Original challenges were too hard (usually not because it required too much skill but because they required too much luck) now they made them super easy and you don’t even have to think about them to knock them over in a few hours.

They should be able to find some middle ground where the challenges keep people playing for longer without being so frustrating that they drive people away.

On a related note, how did they manage to put the same bugged challenge about getting assists for marking an enemy, after previously having to edit the description because it doesn’t work correctly? It’s the sort of repeated mistake that takes the shine off what seems to be a good week for Infinite.

I would rather these events just give us 10 new tiers to the battle pass rather than just make us play event modes.
At least this time the vent is much more fun as it is literally just play the game to earn the stuff rather than play ONE specific mode type that you probably don’t even like and try desperately to get a challenge completed.
I still hate the fact that I went to go play an event way back in the day, the goal of my single event challenge I had available at the time was “Get Mangler Kills” and for two games straight the Mangler never showed up in my matches as an option.

So it seems that the company is learning to NOT do that.

After a system overhaul having longer challenges wouldn’t be terrible if they’re all active at the same time. However something like 5k kills/headshots for a week is a little insane. D’ems monthly numbers my dude. I don’t get that much time to play because of my work schedule and general life responsibilities so really high numbers like that would make challenges like that impossible because I DO NOT HOW THE TIME REQUIRED.

Just giving you an estimate for what you’re asking. 5k kills or headshots. We’ll just average a few things here by saying each game will run somewhere between 5-10 minutes and you get 20 kills on average. That totals out to 21-42 hours playing which doesn’t include search and load times. That’s basically me spending my entire time off from work just to get that challenge. And I just so happen to be human so I’m going to need to eat which requires time to cook and bathroom trips. Not to mention the standard being an adult responsibilities outside of work. That is literally impossible for me.

While having a series of weekly challenges that are quick and easy to complete may not feel that rewarding, at least it is obtainable.

I get what you’re saying and where you’re coming from, but I’d much rather have completable challenges than BS ones like we used to have last year. Something like 20 kills with the pulse carbine was freaking stupid and impossible.

While this week’s challenges were extremely easy to complete they’re also what people have been asking for. Challenges that you can complete in any game mode and any playlist and not being forced into a specific playlist that you may or may not be interested in.

And that’s for someone averaging 20 kills a game. The vast majority get nowhere near that number unless the game runs really long.

There’s no making people happy. Challenges too hard, challenges not easy enough, challenges too easy, yadda yadda, same old song and dance.
