NOAH “PHILOSOHRAPTORS" FOCUS RS

This is a thread dedicated to Noah’s FOCUS RS which can be seen in the latest community update: https://www.halowaypoint.com/en-us/news/mcc-development-update-april-2020

To which where he discusses a valid point in this experienced time staying indoors. He showed a fat picture of that wagon in the back.
When we were mandated to start working from home, I decided to haul home my work PC and set myself up with a nifty folding table in my garage. Understandably, I’ve been asked “why?” quite a few times. To put it simply; working in my garage ensures that “home” stays that way. When I walk into my house, I physically leave all my work behind me. It makes it a lot easier to maintain my established work/live boundaries and it keeps me from going too terribly stir-crazy!

Was this flex needed?
Yes

What do we know of this car?
Nothing as of 5.1.2020

Possible mods?
It looks lowered

I wouldn’t necessarily call it a flex, it’s not like he put a Porsche or M3 on there, the Focus RS is a reasonably priced car.

But it is a hell of a lot of fun to drive, and I appreciate getting that peek.

Mods: Relatively little

  • Mountune M380 intake and tune - Mountune short-shifter kit - Radium Engineering catch can system - Steel braided brake lines, yellowstuff pads and slotted rotors. - Tint (if you count that) - Not lowered, though I would love to change the suspension up someday. Is it fun?
In the words of Jezza; yeeeeeesssss.

Focus RS is an underrated hatchback. Ford knocked that one out of the park. While lowered would look cool, with all the performance mods you’ve put into it, you might just want to keep the suspension as is. Those engineers invested thousands of hours balancing that car out, particularly the RS version. I had a 370z for a few years and wanted to cut some weight. Got some advice to not mess with the weight because Nissan put a lot of effort into perfectly balancing that beautiful machine.

Respect to the immortal words of Jezza btw. “Speed and powaaa”

LOVE the blue over black color scheme as well. The tint pulls it all together. Did the calipers come in blue too?

Looks like you’re off to a good start on the modding front. Reminds me of my old modding days. Started off with basic stuff like lights, i/e, suspension and then eventually ended up with a custom turbo setup, lol.

Never thought I’d see a post for gearheads on Waypoint, but this is a welcome surprise :upside_down_face:

A necessary one!

I hear you on the suspension front. I used to help run a Formula SAE team so I definitely respect the time/effort Ford put into designing the adaptive suspension… However, I also know that once the finance folks got their hands on the designs, they more likely than not told their engineers to make it cheaper. So while I wouldn’t want to mess with the geometry at all, I’d love to get some slightly nicer dampers that will make for a smoother ride day-to-day without sacrificing the razor-sharp handling you get with putting them into sport mode. All that being said, the most important mod the car still needs is an aftermarket skidplate… The OEM one got destroyed by two winters of deepish-snow in the area (and had absolutely nothing to do with me doing donuts in the snow on the top of our parking garage)

Yes, the calipers came in Nitrous Blue:)
