I’ve been meaning to post this, so I’m going to now. A lot of people seem to be under the impression that if they join my company, or amy company with Achilles, they will get ot. No. You won’t. It doesn’t work like that, so please stop. Thanks.
Do people seriously think they can join a company that has Achilles and expect for them to get it too? Without doing any of the commendations?
What has Halo 5 come to? When were the times when you want something, you grind for it? Not taking the easy way out.

I didn’t let anyone in on the last month. No freebies in this game. Maybe LTs did, but I didn’t
People think this? It was specifically stayed that it wouldn’t work this way when the armor was announced.

When we mysteriously had 99 members instead of 100… I chose the worthiest of our requests… [:p]But yeah… so many join requests and we got it Monday…
Can’t blame 'em for trying.
Were it so easy…
Did they expect to get all the commendations you earned as well along with the armor? If it was that simple only one company would have to unlock it and then just replace the members too give them everything.
People these days want everything handed to them in a quick and fast manner. They would spend real money on it to unlock it if they could, and that’s the reason micro-transactions have been such a hit the past couple of years. People would rather take a shortcut to earn something rather than grind and work hard for it. To be honest, yeah you can take the fast way to get stuff, but you won’t have the pride associated with EARNING it.
Congrats on Achilles and keep fighting the good fight by kicking the lazy Spartans in the -Yoink-.

So, if someone joins a company that already has it, is there a way to unlock it by doing some task? Or once a company has Achilles, their well of armor is dry? I don’t really know how Achilles works because I couldn’t give any less of a -Yoink- about virtual cosmetic armor, but I’m just curious.

Join a different company that doesn’t have it yet is the only way.

It’s funny you mention that because I’m looking for people to help me get to the armor in Fistfuls of Arrows, and I’m fine with freebies as long as people contribute a little.
So I’m not a fan of the Achilles armour at all (don’t like the look of it), but I think the system is more than fair the way it is. If you want Achilles, you’ve got to put the work in for it. So many people created Spartan Companies and spent months grinding for it. They’ve earned their armour the long way around, as should anybody else.

You have to love the canonical lore behind it though. That’s the main reason I want it. I find it super intriguing from the canonical perspective.
This, unfortunately, is a bit of a catch-22. On one hand, you shouldn’t be able to just join a company and receive the hardest armor to obtain in the game because that’d be badly abused by people who aren’t willing to contribute towards earning it. On the other hand, it really sucks for friends who buy Halo 5 now (for example, I have two in the past week who picked up a copy), who want to be in my Spartan Company, but won’t be awarded the Achilles armor, even if they can help us obtain the helmet. Considering at this point they’re highly unlikely to get the armor in another company that they’d prefer not to join regardless, that’s a bummer.

It’s… Different. From what I understood in the Halo lore, AIs could not affect the Spartan’s thoughts or control the suit whatsoever, only enhance their actions. Unless the GEN2 MJOLNIR changes something, I don’t understand how an AI can affect the emotions of the Spartan. Does it inject different chemicals into the brain to affect the user? If so, why is that deemed safe? Or necessary? Having an excessively enraged Spartan would not lead to good things, as we have seen with the Spartan-IIIs of Gamma Company.

There’s no way they can get it

I guess that’s true, but I think it’s better this way

Even if you’re friends do join, they would still get the helmet, just not the body piece
