No Yanme'e (drones)

Does anyone know why there aren’t any to be seen in Halo 4?

I can think of a number of reasons like: to time-consuming to create (next to all the other enemy’s) and/or fit in to the battles, story wise because of first reason or without.

What is the reason and how does this go story wise? Does anyone have the answer? Or just post your best guesses.

The only reason why I think the Drones arn’t in was that they wanted to make room for the new villans, and in I think they rbought back the Elites, Grunts, Hunters, and Jackals. was because they where in the First Halo, (just my guess)

it could also be because the drones wern’t popular enoughe.

I think they kind of took elements from the non-included Covenant and Flood enemies to make up parts of the Prometheans.

The Watcher kinda has elements of both the Drone and Engineer, Crawlers have “swarm” tactics like the Drones and Infection Forms and so on.

No one likes drones. They are called “Buggers” for a reason.

I havent thought of that, you could be right.

About the Jiralhanea (brutes); Its clear why they aren’t included. Them and the Sangheilli where always forced to work together, without the prophets they can just go on killing each other again.

I liked the fact how they could just suddenly overwhelm you from out of nowhere.

I don’t like being randomly swarmed by tens of annoying flying bugs with tiny heads. I hate bugs and hate drones.

They probably aren’t in because the Storm faction is a group of Elites that are fanatical about the Great Journey. Hunters respect elites, Grunts could be forced into service, and Jackals probably saw some profit in it.

Drones would have no reason to join the Storm faction.

From a gameplay perspective: imagine fighting Crawlers and Drones…

From a canon point of view: Drones were more or less slaves of the Covenant. With the Covenant in ruins, its likely they went their own way.

Imagine ODST firefight without drones. It would take away the magic.

I loved how ODST firefight actually put you in a state of surviving instead of killing. With drones there was a constant pressure on you. That is what made it so great and better than Reach firefight.

I always liked the diversity of the Covenant with them having airborne infantry included. In the H4 covenant they are presented like mindless idiots. I really hope H5 will fix this and comes with a badas reappearing of the Arbiter and his Covenant.

Just when they were getting more tolerable/interesting, they disappear.

ODST and Reach fleshed them out (ranks, coloring, distinct features) while Halo 3 improved them from Halo 2’s damage sponges. Halo 4 could have made them really great.

Fighting both of them simultanious would probably not really work allthough is does come down to the amount of enemy’s in this case I guess.

I agree with your canon point of view…

Kind of glad they’re gone. After ODST? Jesus, never have I seen so many.

This is why I hated Reach Firefight. I wanted to SURVIVE. It was so boring in Reach.
