I been stuck on 49 Xp on social slayer for about two days now despite winning several matches last night and a few nights previous. I really wanted to unlock the vidmasters achievement, but now I have heard rumours this is a permanent takedown. I wanted to get clarification on weather Halo 3 Xp system has finally ended and my chances of getting recon with it, or if this is just some pervasive system glitch.

No one knows. There’s been no official statement from 343 or Microsoft.

By the way Recon can’t be unlocked anymore anyway.

i heard it started on the 21st its been a week now and i know 343 dont care about the bungie halo’s but itll be nice for them to fix the bug

I have no doubt that 343 is aware, they’re just busy with other things. At least you’re still able to play Xbox Live

Because the tech to unlock it was retired. There’s no way to unlock it anymore.

That is irrelevant if you are just playing social slayer for the vidmaster achievement.

That’s fair but even so, the Vidmaster Achievement’s don’t reward any points for unlocking it.

Right. It’s about full completion, not the points (at least for me). Especially since I’m 4 matches away…

Same there are amy mode to unlock?

No, as mentioned in the tweet you quoted there is no longer any way to unlock Recon. If you weren’t granted it byt Bungie or 343 or gained it via Vidmasters, there is no way to unlock it now. This isn’t a feature that will be returning
