So when I die in Last Spartan standing, we get a notice about that I can leave the game and still gain XP, though I have and haven’t gained any. I know the gain recognizes the game changing, as the regular game xp challenge went from 300, 200, 100, and 50 each time I’ve tried.
Yeah, I’m having the same problem! Would love to make progress on the event challenges, but it doesn’t even seem to count those unless I wait until the end of the game and don’t leave early. Guess I just need to get better haha…or maybe 343 could fix that…
Ya I had the same issue and just watch the game till the end if it’s something I get a eliminated from
Imagine releasing a game that doesn’t update challenges in realtime. Call of Duty has been doing this since 2007.
What another joke of a launch dude. My challenges are scuffed too. I even restarted the game and played another LSS match and my challenge to complete 4 matches never updated.
I hear some say if you spectate the entire length then it updates, but dude, I wouldn’t be surprised if you stayed and spectated and it still didn’t update at this point.
The event/season pass seem to not update their state when leaving early but reporting it to the backend. Those things not updating at all (even after restart) only happened to me on tuesday and wednesday. Yesterday they definitely updated. Although I had to actually play one match to completion for the BP to notice it (it then jumped like 4 levels at once).
Kills seem to track immediately when you quit out. Games completed and points seem to track after you play another game or if you stay till the end of a game and don’t quit early. Battle pass and event pass progression seem to require a game restart or if you stay till the end of a game and don’t quit early.

Challenge progress gained during Last Spartan Standing matches will always be tracked, including when leaving the match early due to being eliminated. In some instances however, this progress may not be tracked in the main menu. Use the workarounds below to see the latest Challenge progress and to refresh the Event Pass menu:
-
If your Event Challenges are not progressing or completing after leaving Last Spartan Standing (LSS) matches early, complete a full match in any matchmaking playlist to see your Challenge progress update.
-
If tier(s) on an Event Pass are not updating after leaving LSS matches early, closing and relaunching Halo Infinite will update the Event Pass menu to show the current unlocked tiers.
- Customization content will still be earned and available to equip even though your Event Pass has not updated. To equip your items as you unlock them, please head to the Customization menus.
The Halo Infinite development team is currently investigating the cause of these issues and a future update to Halo Infinite will improve this unlock flow.
If the workarounds listed above do not resolve the Challenge or Event Pass issue you’re experiencing, submit a ticket to Halo Support (https://support.halowaypoint.com/hc/en-us/requests/new) so we can share your issue with the development team.
They take some good 5 to 10 minutes to registrer, they are busted i just sit for a bit in the menu after leaving a match then reset the game.
You definitely get experience and progress towards challenges, patience is all you need.
Yeah, it seems to happen if you quit immediately after dying. I usually let it sit for about ten seconds then leave. Haven’t had any issues yet. We might just be dropping before the background coding does its thing and updates our battlepass progression, which is honestly kind of sad they didn’t catch something like this.
This is still an issue with the series X. They should just remove the message that tells you that it’s okay to leave once all your lives are used up. I’m sick of not gaining XP after leaving. You literally have to wait until the match is over which is annoying. Let me leave after I have no lives left and get XP!
You get the XP from the “daily match” as well as any progress on the challenges from that match. You just don’t get to see the fancy UI profess bar stuff you typically would see if you competed the match normally. The progress won’t show immediately after quitting, only after the match has competed on the server. So, it could take a few more minutes.
