No wonder 343i didn't consult the community.

I’ve been lurking these forums for weeks now, and it’s obvious that besides a couple of shining beacons in the darkness, most of the people here would rather criticize the developer and don’t properly understand game design, balance, or even what is and isn’t fun to play. The more I see of Halo 4 the more I realize 343i is making good decisions with this franchise and the more excited I get to see the story progress and the multiplayer evolve.

Edit: tried to reword it more gently

The highlighted bit is the only part I would have to disagree one. Everyone is going to have different ideas about what’s fun.

Other than that, quoted for truth.

Also: A belated welcome to waypoint.

Wow, a new account that isn’t a fish person (CoD comparison gardening tool), an AA belly acher or a flame baiting secondary account… I don’t know how to react to this, ummmm…

WELCOME TO WAYPOINT!!!

You don’t have to make everything the community asks for. But some acknowledgement they are listening would be nice. Which they have done so.

And seeing the sheer number of Easter Eggs in the E3 Stage Demo alone makes me happy.

I agree with you to an extent.

P.S. Welcome! Take the time to introduce yourself in Roll Call if you haven’t

you speak the truth, whenever i jump on these forums all that i see is hateful bashing on 343 for little to no reason other than.

I agree, that was actually the point I was trying to make. Everyone thinks that their idea is the “right one” and that’s why they’re wrong.

I agree with you somewhat.

Welcome to the forums

There a few people that aren’t like that. Some actually will look at it from both views.

Some people just don’t like to take a step out of their box and think they are wrong for once.

I agree. I believe that a lot of them have selfish motives, like how campers are hating on PV.

Agreed, but you rarely see the community “ask” for something. It’s always a demand that is poorly articulated, and unfortunately due to these heaps of useless criticisms, studios like 343i or Bungie aren’t really free to be open on actual dialogue on these different areas that are perceived as “issues” by the community.

I totally agree.

And for 343i to be so generous to give us classic playlists on their new game? People complain too much.

It’s the exact reason why I left these forums, for the most part.
I only come here for news, other than that I stay away.

I’ll be honest, I’m kind of against a classic playlist. As a great thread once read: “A Classic Playlist Means Halo 4 has Failed” or something like that.

You don’t need to know video game design to know what is balanced and what isn’t.

true. But who says halo 4 needs it? as far as i know the only reason why its being put in halo 4 is to “appeal” to the competitives that dislike AA’s and stuff.

its not needed.

That would be why I mentioned them alongside eachother and didn’t assume they were the same thing.

Neither is infection, grifball or invasion.

> You don’t need to know video game design to know what is balanced and what isn’t.

It certainly help to understand game design, though. But even that aside, it seems like so many people don’t understand what balance is.
