I’m not even that frustrated that these gametypes are gone anymore. I have fully accepted that 343 doesn’t care about custom gamers. It was pretty easy to do considering Bungie didn’t either.
What I want to know is why.
Why were Race, Assault, and Juggernaut removed? For what purpose? Juggernaut has been with Halo since Halo 1, and Assault since Halo 2. Race was hugely popular in Halo 3 and Halo Reach. VIP was lesser-known, but it was hugely influential and useful in Halo 3 and we were sad to see it go in Reach.
I just want to know why. Why, 343? Why did you remove these gametypes? What purpose did it serve giving us less options and variety? Why would you gut an entire community (Race)?
It’s truly baffling that a developer could be so blind towards a section of its community.

Paitence there is no sense in discussing this at this time, if 343 does plan on releasing more gametypes then I’m sure they won’t talk about it right away.

Why not? Why leave a whole entire community just hanging on a thread? Competitives got their answer on a ranking system. Forgers got their info on Forge. Casual players basically got catered to throughout the entire hype machine. Even machinimakers got information on weapon lowering.
So why the silence on custom gamers?
My guess is that they have nothing good to say so they’re staying quiet about it.

How do you interpret that to say “We’re bringing gametypes back”. All that’s saying is that they’re bringing back “something”. Returning favorites could mean armors, maps, playlists, and yes gametypes BUT NOTHING SPECIFIC.
It’s not clear. It’s not definite. It’s not a satisfactory answer.

We already know bringing in new weapons, armour and that kind of stuff isn’t possible with Halo due to the whole .map situation.
With a gametype script engine, it is entirely possible.
That quote from Kevin Franklin is better than nothing.

I’m hoping 343 are better people than Bungie. They may not care enough to give us what we want, but they might be decent enough to give us a reason.
Bungie were truly a bunch of cold-hearted -Yoinks!-. That much was evident with Reach and their handling of the game post-launch. 343 seems like they’re a little more human.
Yeah well that “Returning favourites” cannot mean anything else but gametypes. It may also refer to playlists but that isn’t something too exciting so they are not gonna do that. I am sure Race will be back, as there are thousands of possibilites with the new forge and race gametype. And if they wont, which is very unlikely, we could do something similar using King of The hill. I have very much faith in 343 and I believe they won’t dissapoint us. <don’t blame my english as I am not from an english speaking contry>
