No unzoom when being shot.

Hello everyone,

Personally, I do not like that you don’t unzoom when you get shot. Think about it. If someone is shooting you cross map, and you manage to get a lucky hit on them, that would throw off their aim. Now, if you get shot, your reticule moves upward slightly. Really doesn’t make a difference. I kind of liked being unzoomed when shot.

Also, since the Light Rifle is a 4 shot when zoomed, you can practically outgun anyone as long as you are zoomed in, since you do not get unzoomed.

Any thoughts?

This is frustrating at times. What gets me the most is when someone is sniping at me from far away and I put shots in them to get away but they snipe me anyway. RIP to that tactic I guess…

Wasn’t that supposed to be a specialization or whatever? So now its on by default?

It really does ruin the game for those of us who like to get up close and personal.

Oh well fellahs. If you want those shotgun kills… Adapt and survive and all that.

It was a little frustrating at times but I’m getting used to it. Btw if it makes a difference to you, when the light rifle is zoomed in it reduces the fire rate significantly and that last headshot is harder to get than with a dmr or br. Of course there will be people who master it eventually, but I wouldn’t expect the light rifle to become OP dont worry. Try it out for a couple of matches. You’ll see what I mean.

I see that now! It’s the Rogue specialization, kind of upset now because I’m dying so much because of this.

Rogue specialisation says : Flinch less when shot.
it does not say : stay scoped while being shot.

I love it. In 3 it was was the most annoying thing nearly. Getting shot makes you unzoom, then you unzoom (which zooms you back in) thinking you need to get away, so then it does the same thing again over and over and you’re just standing there trying to unzoom for like 2-4 seconds and die. I welcome it in 4.

It makes sense- if you are a super soldier wearing highly advanced battle armor, you shouldn’t have to flinch when being shot.

Also, since it is all a virtual simulation in lore, then they probably don’t feel real pain.

It was so frustrating, not because of enemy players, but because of griefers on your team who would shoot you so you could not get a kill, and then you would die due to your shields being down while giving the enemy a point.

I’ll probably make my mind up on it if I go back and play some Halo 3. I’ll give it one thing though it does speed up the gameplay.

Very true coz it happens to me all the time.

I think it sucks. It just gives the snipers more incentive to stay even farther away. If you are shot in the head, you aren’t gonna stay looking through your scope(even if you are a super soldier). YOU JUST GOT SHOT…IN THE HEAD! A quick way to fix this is to make it so headshots make that character unzoom. Just makes it impossible to attack someone camped in the back with a dmr or sniper. Try playing against campers on “complex” and you will see what I mean.

I love not getting zoomed out. Long range battles are now more about “who is better at aiming wins” instead of “who shoots first usually wins”.

The only possible issue is the Snipers but I haven’t had any problems from Snipers yet.

its really annoying because it doesn’t punish people who can’t kill me before hit them, but instead i get punished because i didn’t get a sniper airdropped to me or camped the spawn point for it.

I’m loving it. First of all in Infinity Slayer, I don’t really have to zoom in to hit an enemy on the maps used, it’s just good to do so but not required. On BTB maps, it keeps the gunfight going between both opponents rather than giving one an auto-edge due to a scope vs an unscoped battle.

Yeah that’s because you’re probably camping behind a rock or wall or something. This game is rewarding people for sitting back and scoping the whole time. It’s definitely sped up the gameplay, in the sense that your average life span is a lot less…

No longer do you need to move up and get to a spot and control it. It’s now about waiting until someone decides to move out of their spawn and dominate them with an OP DMR (even if you’re getting shot).

Having people unzoom makes people move around the map and makes the firefights a little closer in both fairness and proximity.

How is this an issue? It has been in Halo since the first time you spawned into blood gulch 11 years ago. It is as important as instant melee kill to the back.

Just think it this way, they can’t see everything around them. Grenade or sneak, take that sniper out.
