Hi Everyone
So it would seem that all the lies we have been told by 343i and various community members have been outed. According to Microsoft themselves, they didn’t have a single Azure server in the entire UK until this morning. That explains A LOT. Thanks 343, you won’t be hearing from me again.
Edit: To all from even further afield I’m not trying to lessen the seriousness of matchmaking problems in Australia for example, as it’s a serious problem and you guys pay the same (actually more) than everyone else so you should get the same service. This thread is more generally about he problem with servers and being lied to I just mainly comment on what happens in my region.
Could have been in Great Britain though.

as far as I’m aware the closest server to me is somewhere in central Europe, hundreds if not thousands of miles away.

BBC article where Microsoft says they have “finally” started their first UK servers, three of them to be precise. I highly doubt MS was hiring server real estate for the benefit of Halo fans which leads me to believe that there were no UK servers to start with. Something which has been consistently guessed by UK fans and denied on numerous occasions. http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/technology-37285667

How is this news? Are´nt we all painfully aware of the limited locations of MS azure servers? Eireland and The Netherlands I believe. You lucky gits in the UK are at least within a fair distance to the servers, from Scandinavia we have no really close servers and there are those who are even worse off of course. And yes, its sucks.
They are in Ireland in Galway i think it is, whats the problem with that? Compete and utter nonsense this thread.

Because when your nearest server has a sea barrier between you and it you can guarantee poor connection in the majority of matches. As is the case with me and everyone I know who plays Halo. If you can’t see what’s wrong with this, especially considering the UK is one of Microsofts biggest markets, then you frankly don’t have the knowledge to comment on this issue.
Interesting, someone had told me Azure servers were worldwide in the thread comparing Halo 5 and TF2 servers.

Apparently not as 343 have sworn that the UK did in fact have its own servers. Which it doesn’t. I’m not trying to undervalue the problems other countries have which is undeniable, I’m just trying the shed light on the fact that we are being lied to. For all we know there could be only one server that Halo 5 loads on. I know it sucks I just wish 343 had been straight with UK fans (their second largest market) from the start. Which they haven’t been. I cant even imagine how you feel

Yeah multiple people including 343 have been saying this since release. Now we now it simply is not true. Today was the first day the UK has had active MS servers. Next they’ll be saying they were buying server space off someone else just for Halo 5 or that they have Halo 5 specific servers in the UK. Such -Yoink-. I’m getting sick of the lies, this explains why me and my mates have had such appalling connection issues, especially such as always being matched with Americans which gives them a massive advantage.

That would make sence cause I would often get Asian various, Indian, Chinese, Japanese, North and South American players.
And when there was people from Europe it was very rarely uk player or surrounding countries like France or Holland. Holland for some reason I tend to see people very late at night.

Well we know there is a server in Ireland, and one in the Netherlands. As far as I know that’s been the closest two to us until now.
Kinda sucks really, considering how many customers they must have in the UK. And it still won’t fix the lag problems, as we’ll still get people in Mexico who are searching on expanded and playing on our servers. The only way to fix lag will be to enable region lock, but they won’t do that.

Don’t complain on 343i’s own website that we were lied to about the server availability? Jesus man wtf is wrong with you. Go play with your -Yoink- somewhere else. -Yoinking!- nutcase.
