Why is there no theatre mode for campaign and spartan ops in halo4? theatre was across the board in halo3, ODST and reach. Why deny people the chance to take awesome screen shots and clips from epic encounters in spartan ops and a brilliant campaign? I really cant see any reason for this. Many of BS Angels favorite screen shots where from reachs firefight mode and the like. The assassinations on the different enemies alone in halo4 are warrant for screen shots. Its no wonder there have not been any sets from BS Angel for Halo4 yet. Multiplayer is awesome for it but campaign is epic and spartan ops in its episodic style is a no brainer. There isnt enough community in Halo4. Please remedy this. Look at bungies book. They got better and better. To take anything from the franchise they created in not the way forward.
Plus it would have been nice for speedrunning.

I too find this troubling. One of my favorite things to do was taking screenshots in firefight and campaign. I simply would die for the option of theater in spartan ops, some of the locations are jaw dropping in magnificence. I honestly think it is just wasted potential.
I support theater for Campaign and Spartan Ops.
It was probably for time constraints. I remember Bungie had trouble with party theater in Reach, so they took it out.
But yeah, it’s absolutely horrible that you can’t take screenshots or videos of AI now. It was really helpful for showing off cool easter eggs, glitches, etc. Actually, Campaign and Firefight comprised the majority of pics and videos in Reach, I believe.
I remember them saying in a bulletin that it was due to problems regarding the changes in the engine that they implemented. For some reason or another, the theater wasn’t working properly and they didn’t have time to fix it.
It’s rather unfortunate though, since I would love to take screenshots or clips of moments in campaign and Spartan Ops.
the kicker of course is that they keep giving us spartan ops galleries before the new episodes are releases… screen shots from spartan ops. so they get to enjoy taking them but we cant. every time i see a new gallery of SS on the homepage, i feel like their rubbing it my face, or even saying “well youre -Yoink- outta luck and cant take any, but here are 10 pictures we took. that outta hold you over.” no, no it doesnt. please just stop posting those spartan ops galleries because it just waves in our faces what we cant do

In a fairly recent tweet BS Angel confirmed that 343i isn’t even looking into adding Theater for Campaign and Spartan Ops. I’m pissed.

That’s because they have access to the development tools which allow them to control the camera view while playing the game, among many other things. None of the screenshots that we’re shown are from theater mode in any way.
the game didnt have enough space alot people dont know that 25% of the game is missing because the xbox couldnt handle it why do you think it was 2 disk so dont worry to much the next halo will have it
Lack of Theater has absolutely killed my enthusiasm. I’ve been adding capture devices to the cart in my online searches then taking them out when reminded of this possible negligence.
My only motivation for getting a capture card now is for Halo 3. Not just because film rendering is long gone but also because I appreciate how it supported campaign Theater, File sharing, etc.
