If I remember correctly bravo posted in a playlist update for the MCC that team doubles was requested so much and attracted enough people to make it permanent. So why don’t include it for the launch of Halo 5? It is beyond me. Maps to large?? Just forgotten? other thoughts? let me know…

The Major Problem, and that’s what a lot of People don’t want to understand here, that to many Playlists would cause problems. For one with the Serverstability, for other it would split the Community in the beginning to much. Yeah you could argue with: “But still they could at least doubles…” but then, whats with people who wanted to play Infection?! 343i will handle this good, so wait a bit, i don’t believe Doubles are gone forever…

Just like how they handled the implementation of doubles in H4 and MCC? If that’s the case, us double players, will be waiting at least three months to hear about them thinking, maybe, possibly putting in a doubles playlist. I had high hopes for H5 for redemption, but not having doubles is a big mistake in my opinion.
Agreed. I have no reason to pick up the game until they add doubles. And the argument that too many playlists divides the community is just stupid. There will always be enough people in each playlist to a least play a match. If not, well I guess try it again at a different time, but don’t take away the option.
I’m right there with you guys. Team Doubles, to me, is one of the most strategic and highly competitive playlists in the Halo world. Releasing a title without this playlist is simply incomprehensible. 343, please let us know when we can expect doubles to be added and I’ll plan on picking up my Halo 5 copy then.

You say this but compare it to all the playlists that launched with Halo: Reach… It seems to me that 343 are really under pressure to iron out problems and get the updates ready to roll out.

It might be a rotation weekend thing. I’m sure if a playlist keeps getting picked every weekend it’s up it might get added to a perm list.
I want doubles so bad among other playlists obviously but doubles would be good.
It makes no sense why we don’t have Team Doubles. The game is geared to be competitive, but it sucks that you won’t really ever feel like your on a team unless you queue with 3 of your friends (which you may or may not have). I just hate duo queuing with my friend, and getting 2 randoms that don’t even speak.
Some of the maps are far to big to be Team Doubles worthy, but I have noticed a lot of the breakout maps are decently sized. There could have been a decent rotation of maps for Team Doubles from the start, but they needed to dedicate these tron-esque maps to a whole Breakout playlist instead.

I would obliterate you in doubles. 
I convinced my buddy to get H5, and was hopefully that we would get to tag-team it in Team Doubles like the good ol’ H3 days, but now we both just play the PC and our Xbox’s collect dust because the playlist is MIA.
The game is really fun, but its not a good time for anyone who is stuck playing with random teammates in ranked playlists, if you do not have the ability to put together a full 4 man team.

I was never really a doubles player up until now. Just didn’t like the way it played but I have to say that after playing my placement matches it’s starting to grow on me. Not a HUGE fan of it still, but I don’t mind playing it.

Get one good friend, and build up teamwork with them. You will find that the level of satisfaction is so much higher when you win in Team Doubles than 4v4. It is you and one other person (your best friend, or w.e), and it just feels so much more epic knowing that you have a bigger impact of the outcome of the game rather than rolling with random people in larger playlists. You get more adrenaline, more emotions, more everything. Neck-n-Neck Team Doubles matches are intense. You will find soon enough that Team Doubles may be a smaller game type, but it amplifies the competitive level over 9000.
