No stupid cosmetics

It’s multiplayer, so who really cares honestly?

Been in the game since Halo 3. You’re dismissed.

And the official Twitter account for Halo does nothing but encouraging people to consume, consume all the cosmetics. People seem to care more about skins and similar crap than actual game mechanics and/or tech and performance.

The “it’s free so you have nothing to complain about” argument doesn’t hold up very well; I’d gladly pay money for a decent package of content and polished functionality over anything that’s free. Hell I’d even gladly donate money to support it if it had the latter and was still free. Here I am - still waiting for the campaign to have it’s performance issues ironed out. You know - the best part about all previous Halo games.

Still haven’t even touched multiplayer in Infinite I might add, but it’s sad to see it go down this route.

Just as a slight aside, the teddy bear ornament is actually canonical. It belonged to Spartan Daisy-023, from Halo Legends: Homecoming, and while not used as a weapon ornament, she did wear it attached to her armor.

Nah, keep em. They do no harm. Also highly doubt they will ever be taken out.

This isn’t even a joke, but it was funny to read👍

Oh that’s cool! I had no idea, haven’t really followed any of the halo stuff outside of the games (main games, Reach, and halo wars haven’t played the arcadey ones or whatever).

I still wouldn’t wear a teddy bear on my spartan, but I don’t have any problems if other ppl want to. Teddy up!

I was being sarcastic. You’re dismissed.

Silly cosmetics have been a part of halo forever, but also, I am one of those people who enjoy this stuff. I’m a massive halo fan myself and my favorite part of the franchise is the silly and absurd portions. People take this space marine shooty game series a little too seriously sometimes. Halo does not need to be grimdark and serious.

I fine with it, to a point. Small silly cosmetics like mecha-cat ears are small and unassuming enough to not readily clash with the overall aesthetic. Now if they make big obvious cosmetics like full armors looking outlandish or disgusting “graffiti” colors/skins littering the cosmetic pool, that would be problematic. I mean Yoroi armor is a little outlandish, but its still an overall professional look (actually looks like practical samurai armor).
I guess the key is making sure fashion doesn’t come at the cost of function.

No they’re cute. Cat eared Spartans 4 lyfe

Well what do you think of the bright plastic looking red white and blue HCS coating? It’s pretty jarring looking. Especially on the Yoroi armor.

I love my pepsi spartans

I like the cat ears tbh. I hope they add more crazy stuff and expand on the armor core system to add even wilder armor.

I genuinely do wish they fixed the textures to look less glossy and more rugged. That said it falls in a sort of limbo in where it looks bad, but it was a deliberate cosmetic choice to fall in line with a promotion.

Three words “Grunt Birthday Party”

Halo has always had surprisingly hilarious things that I’m sure can have a lore created around.

Reach’s multiplayer also had flying heart emojis… So I think 343’s not to far off by adding wacky customizations options.

I totally agree with the realistic immersion that halo has for a space alien shooter game. But even bungie crossed the boundary with Easter eggs hidden in the campaign. Remember that bungie employee Easter egg with classic doom/marathon graphics they had in the beginning of that last level of halo 3? Yeah, that kinda broke the immersion but it was memorable and I laughed my -Yoink!- off when I discovered it with friends

At least Halo doesn’t go too far. Halo always has pretty good taste (no anime, no emotes, no bright pink tanks with flowers)

Only after I get my Snoop Dogg AI. 420 weed weapon, vehicle, armor coating and blunt weapon charm.
