This game is lacking an critical element that will stop halo fans from playing altogether. Stats. There is absolutely no stat tracking available for this title.
This is a devastating omission. Players previously enjoyed checking stats for maps, weapons, medals, achievements, skulls, heatmaps, etc. and see how their play progressed. Users freely could visit other players stat pages and gauge their skills before matches, and thoroughly enjoy this cumulative representation of a players history. This is not present in this game at all. It is as if this was purposefully hidden.
Additionally, there are no unlocks or customization options for skill based achievements. Prior halo games had armors unlocked only for in game achievements. Why is this missing? Every armor unlock now is nearly ONLY from battle pass. You used to be able to see a players armor and immediately tell if he had outstanding player achievements if he was sporting a prestigious armor/helmet; this has been completely left out of this game.
Furthermore, there is no long term progression of the game. Statistics for weapons are not tracked. Statistics for medals and maps are not tracked. The game previously would conveniently keep track of each of the weapons, headshots, double kills, and track everything. Once you reached a certain number of kills in each category- there would be an unlock. This kept players trying to get kills with different weapons, and working towards these unlocks. There is plenty of opportunity for the creation of unlocks- armors, helmets, attachments, weapon skins, player skins- be creative! But if players can not work towards anything, there is no point.
Overall the building blocks of this game are there, however developers need a bit of work to fine tune it. Without these elements, myself, and many other players will stop playing the game altogether. Return the prestige element of halo to restore the title to former glory.
I could care less about stats. If your measure of fun is touting numbers, then sooner or later, you are bound to be disappointed when you come across a situation like this.
Would also be nice to have improved post-game stats, like weapons used and most killed (killed by). I mean it seems like they have gone backwards. One of the interesting parts (and yes it added to the fun) was seeing all the kills by weapon being tracked. Players were proud of getting that single traffic cone kill, lol.
It’s pretty bare-bones when compared to the old H3 service records on Bnet, but HaloTracker tracks all your games, and stats like Kills, Deaths, Assists, etc. Just make sure you have match sharing enabled in your Infinite settings (I think it’s all the way at the bottom of UI settings, but I could be wrong).
I do hope they come up with a proper Service Record that is viewable in-game, along with pre-game lobbies so you can have a quick look at enemy stats before a game. It really helps with knowing which players you need to focus on (and who to watch out for) when starting a game.
Some people enjoy looking at their stats and using that as a benchmark to improve their play over time. If that’s what they find fun, that’s no less valid than what you find fun.
Also, it’s better to have the stats and not need them (as in your case), than to want them and not have them (as with OP). Previous games have always had them so it doesn’t really make sense for them to be missing with Infinite.
Well where are the stats? It’s been 6 months since this post, no stats still? what is going on? it’s like with every entry there is less and less content. Halo 4: lots of content. Halo 5: average amount of content. Halo Infinite: hardly any content
I’m not trying to make excuses for 343, but i did notice they had posted over 30 job openings in a link in the recent blog ALPHA AVENUE ( https://www.343industries.com/careers ).
I wonder how bad it really is there, 30 people is like a whole studio and some.
