No sprint or no thrusters?

Ok, so let’s pretend that 343 decides to cut either sprinting or thrusters from H5 (because it is very unlikely they will cut both). Which one would you prefer? I seem to get a mixed view and wonder what people tend to lean more towards. Or should they keep both and just tweak the heck out of them?

If they are deciding to cut one, cut sprint…I can deal with thrusters for the most part

I also tend to lean towards the thrusters. Sprint just doesn’t fit, in my opinion.

I lean toward altering thrusters to be Zero-G movement devices and Fall deceleration devices. Sprint should remain.

Cover is very abundant in the Halo 5 beta maps. The last two main Halo titles allowed you to force players out of cover with grenades, even if they managed to Sprint away from you, but now they can Thrust away from that grenade as well… We need AT LEAST one way to punish players for over-extending themselves… I don’t see having both Abilities in the final game as being anything but highly detrimental to Halo 5’s longevity.

Normally, I would chose anything over Sprint, but the maps are scaled very large to accommodate it’s usage, meaning the maps themselves cannot function without it… Increasing base movement speed may not be as effective as before, either. Thruster Pack however, sends you 20 feet in the opposite direction with the click of a button. Players often leave each other’s line of sight immediately.

It has little hope of ever being properly balanced, outside of decreasing it’s distance, which makes it useless again.

The idea of Spartans thrusting around never sat well with me anyways, so I am quite biased. They could easily make a similar maneuver without any visible ‘thrusters’ helping them.
