No sprint for halo 6

Since 343 have messed up every halo they came out with (halo4,haloMcc,halo5beta/halo5) I think they should make halo 6 more traditional (no sprint) and not completely mess up a halo game for once. #343needsjesus

Please, someone ban this clown. While I agree sprint is detrimental, you manage to make every single thread a hate thread. Every single one.

Muhhahahaha!!!

If I were a mod, I would have a hell of a ban hitlist right now.

No, seriously. It’d be like a mile long.

Agreed sprint doesn’t belong in Halo and every Halo game that had sprint lost most of its population within 2 months of its release.

Cause versus Correlation
Sprint did not make halo fail, Multiple factors made halo fail.

People act as thought sprint it the sole reason halo started to decline, Never mind all the other issues fans had with the games. Pretty much all of which have been addressed in halo 5.

Well, you asked for my opinion, so here it is:

This section of the forums is dedicated to Halo 5, this post does not belong here. Try posting it in the other section, or in the off topic posts. Furthermore, this is your third thread dedicated simply to saying “sprint will never work, take it out”. It’s become obvious you’re not doing it to hear others opinions, but rather to stir up the hornets nests and get attention.

In all reality, you’re breaking the rules of Waypoint, and sooner or later you will be banned due to it. You’re causing spam, and most, if not all of your topics, are non-constructive negativity.

That’s just my opinion, have a nice day.

Hey, guys, listen a sec…

You hear that? That soft thwacking noise? It’s the sound of someone beating a dead horse.

That’s just the thing. Everyone breaks those rules. Not to the same extent that he does, but “Forum dedication” is nearly completely irrelevant when a user starts a thread. These threads, while there are three of them by him and annoying, work just as well here as they would in General. And if they don’t, be ready to copy and paste that response onto 72% of the Halo 5 forum.

There’s been 1… -_-

Think of it this way: Every FPS in this day and age has sprint so if someone picks up halo for the first time they will be asking “where’s the sprint?” and they won’t find it fun. So sprint is not going anywhere in halo.

Halo Reach + Halo 4 = 2 Halo games with serious population drop-offs and Sprint with it’s Sprint-y tentacles in everything. -_-

Since when does a game’s lack of Sprint make it “unfun?” The old Halo’s were fun because I didn’t have to put my gun down to move at a decent speed.

Also, every other FPS of this day and age? TF2, Counterstrike, Quake and Tribes all have want to have a word with you.

Those are not FPS of this day and age.

Those are FPS games from almost 10 years ago at the very latest. They established themselves around 2007 or earlier and even if they are re-released (like Tribes), they only cater to gamers old enough to remember them. Yes, Counter-strike is extremely popular but it’s mostly filled with people who started playing before and around Update 1.6. It isn’t really attracting new gamers as much as it is just keeping an established playerbase. Those old games may have set the stage for what games are today like how the Rolling Stones or the Beatles influence today’s musicians, but like new Musicians, they take what they learned from The Rolling Stones/The Beatles and build upon it and change it. No one listens to the Rolling Stones or The Beatles and thinks it’s contemporary and modern music. They understand that they are classics, the oldies.

I know you’re thinking that games from 2007 or older, aren’t that old at all. But kids these days have grown up playing games like Call of Duty, Battlefield, etc, games that MAY have not had aiming down the sights, sprint, etc in their first iterations (Call of Duty 1, etc). But they quickly incorporated it and have established it as the standard across all First Person Shooters.

Just the other day I was playing with someone who has started playing Halo 2 Anniversary for the first time ever. She said “How do I run faster?”. “You can’t”. “Ok well how do I aim down my sights?” “You can’t, you can only zoom in”. “Why does it unzoom when I get hit?” “That’s how it works”.

She ended with “This game sucks!” She quit and went back to playing Minecraft.

Well then. Forgive my complete and total lack of trust in what you just defined as the modern FPS market. I had the feeling that was what he meant, but I was holding out for something more insightful.

I also find it funny this person was playing Minecraft, an excellent example of the kind of super weird game that takes markets by storm. This person has experience tangling with unorthodox mechanics. I don’t know her, but it sounds like Halo 2 should be right up her alley? But idk.

Because it’s new to them.

Just like how counter strike was new to us compared to Doom or Wolfenstein 3D.

I started playing Halo with Halo 4. I thought was a mess. Recently got my hands on the originals and now understand what this Halo thing is that everyone is raving about.

See, what’s new to someone is just what they haven’t played before, imo. I haven’t played Doom or CoD Ghosts. Both are new to me, despite one being from the 90’s and the other being quite recent. I think if we’re so quick to throw away our history we wind up depending on publishers to give us our new video gaming experiences. Once again, I have no trust in the modern FPS market.

This^^

This is what i was getting at and none of the games that L377UC3 mentioned are of “this day and age”. I failed to mention it but i thought it was obvious, I meant fps in the last 4-5 years.

Well alrighty. The thing is, I don’t find most FPS made in the last 4-5 years fun. Maybe that’s just me, but I think we have a wealth of innovation and interest in older games just waiting for the younger players to dive right in, and I feel I can attest to this as a younger gamer myself. I find all four of those games I mentioned quite a bit more interesting then the most recent Halo titles, even with Halo 4 as the first Halo I played and the first game I owned on a 7th gen console.
