No Splitscreen?

I haven’t been on the forums in a while and I’m sure that this has been discussed before, but I didn’t see a place to search the topics.

A while back I read a Halo 5 story on the front page which said that there won’t be splitscreen in Halo 5 in order to improve system performance, but I didn’t see specifics about what that means exactly. Does it just mean that there won’t be online campaign splitscreen? Will there only not be online mutliplayer splitscreen? Does it mean that local custom games won’t allow for multiple people? Or does it mean that at no time will two or more people be able to play Halo 5 at the same time on the same Xbox, regardless of if it’s campaign or multiplayer, or online or local?

No split-screen at all, period. Everyone’s going to have to have their own Xbox and TV to play together at each others’ houses.

What upsets me about this is the fact that you can’t really make any movies/machinima/whatever unless you have multiple xboxes or friends willing to do it with you every step of the way over the internet.

Next to your name in the top right corner

Thanks, Aryan pro11.

I also see it being a problem for Forge as well. In past Halos I’ve always created maps and along the way would occasionally sign in other accounts to test out stuff like spawning, objectives, etc. So sad to hear they’ve removed the social aspect of a social game :frowning:

The ability for you to make machinima by yourself on one xbox is probably the last thing on 343i’s mind. Maybe it didn’t even cross it. Can’t say I blame them.
Anything worth doing is worth doing well. So get a friend to help you out.

I’m not saying I make it, but I believe that a lot of people who will probably be pretty upset that you can’t. At least you still could on Reach or 3 I suppose, but still, seems like a step back to me. However, I know that they really want 60FPS and 1080p, so they had to sacrifice something I guess.

Trust me though, finding a friend to do it with is not as easy as it sounds, since not many people even care for or even wanna bother with forge except to mess around in, and trusting some complete stranger who may just back out or just quit caring at any time seems kind of silly to me, but I digress.

sacrificing a gameplay element like splitscreen in exchange of a graphics perk was a bonehead move on 343’s part.

The moderators are locking all Splitscreen threads You can find the official one here but to answer your question, there is no splitscreen

Yep. Please move the discussion to the official thread.
