No Spawn Points = Map is Ded

A little tip for an honest mistake: if you are about to save a map or leave a forge game, be sure to drop in a spawn point before you do so, if your map doesn’t have any already.

I was working on a possible assassination complex on Glacier, and upon leaving it for the night, I forget to plop in a spawn point on the map. I figured the game would drop me in at a random location, akin to previous games.

lol, nope.

upon reloading th map the following morning (today), the game spawned me in the middle of the floor. Not on top of the floor, but IN the floor. I wasn’t able to do anything. Not even switch to Spartan mode. I was stuck.

I tried to reload the map a couple times, but to no avail. My map is kill.

Luckily, I wasn’t too deep into the project (nor taken seriously.) so I deleted it and started anew.

Moral of the story: Be sure to set a spawn point anywhere in the map before you leave, or else your map will not be editable upon return. I’m sure it’s a bug, but a minor one that can be fixed beforehand.

Thanks for the heads up. Sounds like a glitch they could remedy though, have a default spawn point if no present spawn points.

Yeah, I worked for an hour on a new breakout map, but I still had the spawn points on the platforms :confused:
I had the same thing happen though. It’s really weird, and I hope they fix it, because that is my ONLY problem with Forge. :slight_smile:

Wish I would have read this before I spent 2 hours working on a map. haha I was about to create a thread on this issue. I also have trouble saving maps, is their words it won’t accept like “Hell?”
