Seriously? So for people to even play solo or split screen with a friend or two, you have to pay per month to enjoy a co-op experience involving your custom Spartan. While I love what 343 has done to Halo more than Bungie could ever do except create the beloved franchise. 343, I love you but seriously? I think I’d just rather play Borderlands 2 with my friends because at least I paid for y game and that’s all I gotta do to play. And we’re not even online. I mean, there should be a Spartan Ops mode that’s offline where you can play without anyone but maybe LAN with a friend or even split-screen.
I guess what I’m saying is… Will there ever be an update addressing this or are those with the inability to afford XBL Gold doomed to play Halo 4’s campaign so much that one becomes sick of Halo?
I don’t really think that’ll change. There aren’t really people addressing that concern. I prefer spartan ops over firefight but being able to play offline was definitely something that firefight one uped spartan ops on. I wonder why we can’t play offline.
Spartan Ops is such a step backward from Firefight, which was great for messing around offline with friends.

Its a huge step forward. I personally think 343 is just missing that huge fun aspect that Bungie had with their Halo which is why Halo 4 is the way it is, 343 is Halo>fun while bungie was lets make it super fun while still keeping it Halo. I don’t know how to explain it but its just the differences in the companies and the way then work and what they believe in as a company like go look at destiny and how they talk about the 7 pillars which decide what they put into the game.
343 is more then capable of taking care of Halo as a series but bungie so far has been better at making it a friendly game that you just love to play in with your friends over and over again, hell I still play CE from time to time because its just that fun.

If you get anything above 1 month Gold, it’ll be hardly noticeable.
Of course, once your Gold expires, yeah it sucks to realize this.
Anyways, shame how our custom Spartan only got featured twice in in-game cinematics (E6C1, E10C5). I like how the later missions of Spartan Ops feature a Phantom and usually we have to get into the grav lift to end the mission instead of being in it’s vicinity.
hopefully after say…another full cycle of spops matchmaking they will make it available to everyone. i cant stand when large pieces of the main story are locked away as dlc or because of gold. as ive said before 343 feels a little like bioware in this case by locking away important stuff in dlc.
I pay for Gold so I get things like Spartan Ops. If they give Spartan Ops away - it means I am getting less for my money. I would like more content for paying for Gold, not less.
Everything has to be paid for somehow. So if you scrap Gold and give everyone everything, then the price of games, DLC, Xbox and accessories will have to go up to pay the bills.
I believe that once a season has been fully released, it should become available to play offline. It would also help promote Gold for those who wish to play the newer episodes.
