Weather you like dit or not its still kinda a bummer that there is a strong possibility that there wont be a spartan ops 2 i mean it wasnt perfect but it also wasnt bad i mean some of the improves i can think of is if your playing solo it would be nice to have the option to customize your own AI spartan team so your not completely solo, By this i mean there armor and load out and give them the option to have more of the better weapon loadouts like the sniper rifle and the shotgun. its just an improve but its too late to add it to the spartan ops now but perhaps somehting fpr halo 5 its just kinda -Yoink- how they ended spartan ops and may not actualy finish it you know.
This is just a personal opinion on my part if it isnt continued id still ply halo 5 but it would b kinda an empty spot for me not filled by how tha end will be connected to the new game since spartan ops takes place after the campaign then the next campagn should probably have some relation to it or lse it might as well be a completely different game. im sure if they add some costomization to it then spartan ops ould be much better. and played more like mabey a daily challenge for spartan ops not just a weekly sinc eid finih those in like 2 days if not the first one.
Yeah, it’s disappointing. I enjoyed Season 1. Hope they change their mind and it somehow gets done. Anything that drives the Halo Universe forward is a plus in my book.
Bummer? Why? It after firefight, 343 think that some going left then right missions going to be loved by community… All there is in spartan ops is 3 maps, and go left then right… 97% of population stop playing it after achievement… There is no point in playing same map, same old every time… Go left crimson, are you on left? Good, now go right… On same 3 maps every time… Bring back firefight… If 343 is not capable to create something new, bring back what Bungie create and was working more then extra…

So… you didn’t like it. And that means no one else did?
And how is that not different than firefight? Firefight is literally what you described. Same old map, hold out in the same place against the same enemies. SpOps just added an objective and some story. Firefight has only a few maps, which were recycled from the campaign, and the same enemy movements and predictably waves depending on what you touched in the settings.
Both obviously would benefit from improvements.
Firefight was just a little more customizable. And if 343i continued Spartan ops we may see more customization with it as well. Not to mention unique maps and more maps and objectives.
Looks like they probably thought spartan ops would explode with popularity on release, and waited to see how the numbers were before they made a sequel… And we all know how most people felt about Spartan ops compared to firefight… So there’s a theory…
By now, it looks like halo 4’s kinda reached its climax, so I wouldn’t expect anything that big any time soon…
I’ll be honest, I’d be hard pressed to see halo 4 continue support after this year a lone, yet alone an entirely new campaign mode…

Sounds like they’ve already got plans to continue Majestic’s story, and it isn’t Spartan Ops Season 2.
You know, it wouldn’t be very difficult to remake some Spartan Ops missions in a Firefight mode. 343i could bring back Firefight, but also have Firefight “missions.” They would be gametypes made in Firefight, but with a concurrent story and perhaps some additional content (a floating Forerunner box you have to protect, for example).
Episodic gameplay such as Spartan Ops is a great concept, but very few developers have been able to pull it off.

Then I wonder why they called Spartan Ops “Season One”? Did they EVER have plans for a follow-up?

I think either costed to much or there were not that many people playing it.

Probably a little of both. It’s a shame though that one of the more promising features (pre-launch) saw so little support. We had some nice cinematics and a good turn in level design with the second half of season one but that only went so far to improve or otherwise dress up what always felt like a half-hearted stab at delivering simply more co-op. We got the bare essentials of 50 levels but in the most economical and thus most disappointing way possible just, it seems, to provide the framework for a weekly series which now seems to be the only think 343 got out of the attempt.
What I’m hoping for with the continuation of this story line is a game mode that first looks at the challenges in building a rich, replayable co-op mode before finding a way of shoving a story line behind it.
another thing too is to just improve the whole thing we all know there are fans of firefight but for me its just waves of enemy after another with no real concept but just shoot and kill i would just honestly get the sniper rifle and camp most of the waves out in spots i found. in spartan ops i had to actualy move around and manuver a little kinda makes you actualy feel like a spartan team except for the fact that when you played alone there was no team thus why i suggested AI spartan teammates that you can customize how you they look like a standby team if you dont have 3 players those three pre set spartan AI are placed into the gam with you. that way your not roling solo. and another thing i wanted to see added was perhaps whatching yur armor get put on or at leats like a inifinity ship to walk around in like instead of selecting missions on a plane screen with a blue backround like mabey your walking around infinity betwen wargames and spartan ops and theres a section like the hanger for a spartan ops and you start off in the armor deck and mabey some spartans are getting armor placed or taken off kinda like a just more invovled in the spartan life kinda feel.

Personally I’m still hoping 343i will release the SpOps maps for use in multiplayer/Forge (because Apex BTB/Dominion).
Your FF idea is more likely to be implemented over my Requiem Map Pack idea, though.
Not saying that FF would be any less (it’s not) than being able to Forge (or host custom games) on the SpOps maps.
Still don’t understand why we can’t have both Spartan Ops and Firefight within the single entity that is “Spartan Ops”. We don’t need a separate Firefight option over and above Spartan Ops:
One set of maps/missions, in the Spartan Ops lobby.
Player chooses which mission/map they want, and then chooses Spartan Ops “mode” or Firefight “mode”.
Spartan Ops (story) mode:
Player selects difficulty level (easy/normal/heroic/legendary).
Player selects limited or unlimited life pool. Unlimited life pool disables achievements, but allows playthrough of story. Limited life pool sets lives to a predetermined number set by 343 based on difficulty level and their play testing.
Missions are of a mixed variety, just as Spartan Ops was. “Escort the scientist”, “capture strategic points”, “fortify and hold out for drop ship”, “Infiltrate and capture the object”, “escape the facility”, etc.
Mission ends when objective met, fails if life pool or timer exceeded.
Firefight mode:
Player selects difficulty level (easy/normal/heroic/legendary).
Player selects 343 set default limited life pool based on difficulty level (achievements enabled), unlimited life pool (achievements disabled), or a number of their choosing (achievements disabled if greater than default).
Player chooses to enable or disable scoring (team or individual).
Player chooses to enable or disable medal popups.
Player chooses bonus round content (grunts or random).
Player chooses skull options: specific set (to allow LASO play), default “ramp up” (like ODST), or off. Achievements only enabled in Firefight mode with “ramp up” setting.
Missions play out exactly as in Spartan Ops mode.
When mission objective is met, bonus round happens.
When bonus round ends, skulls ramp up, and if the objective was a “movement” objective, the target and/or waypoints reverse, and the player/team must traverse the level in the opposite direction for the next “round”, if possible. May not be possible for all missions / maps, some may just have to “reset”. Rinse, repeat.
Game ends when life pool runs out or objective not attained that round.
This would mean those who prefer Spartan Ops the way it is can play it that way, and don’t have to play what they feel is the “monotony” of Firefight, and those who want the variety and challenge of the ever increasing difficulty of Firefight can turn on those options. There’s no reason it has to be only “one or the other” or entirely separate game types/modes/lobbies.

That ould be awesome mabey also put in there th whole optional team of AI spartans to role with you when you ply solo.
