No sound...

I’ve got no sound except for at the main menu. Everything is dead silent otherwise…

Yeah um how are people supposed to help you when you didn’t even post your specs or any actual details aside from “I have no sound”…

steam user here, switched between Logitech G933 and onboard realtek audio devices (digital and 3.5mm front jack) with restarts
so that’s [emulated] 7.1, [real] 5.1, and stereo attempted

sound & music work in main menus and loading screens
no sound in-game, nor in cutscenes
except in menus in-game (pause menu button hover, end-of-round loadout selection hover)

Using Voice Meeter Banana shows that on both setting the virtual input to 7.1 and stereo (in windows settings) has the audio channels fall silent once in game

You may want to check the audio quality you have set on your sound card (either via Windows Sound Settings or by a manufacturer software install). Many games have issues going too high with sound quality, and cut out entirely.

I had the issue about 6 months ago trying to play an old COD game.

Yeah, been trying a bunch of stuff, it’s only at 48khz, I’m not running professional grade stuff. I did turn it down at one point, but not below 41.

Got this problem as well, Windows 7, Razer Kraken 7.1 Chroma V2, somehow got it working after messing around with sounds, but that screwed up discord, now halo sounds is screwed again and can’t seem to get sounds back up again, but oddly the pause and main menu still works regardless

Playing without easyanticheat has sound. There’s something wrong with easyanticheat.

I’m having the same issue in about 60-70% of my games.

Still nothing, guys.

Even those “month ago” activities are mine asking wth is going on.

Can you try the steps below:

  1. Unplug all audio devices plugged into audio jacks
  2. Plug in simple pair of earphones directly into the 3.5mm jack
  3. Do an audio test and see if you hear anything coming through the earphones
  4. Launch the game
  5. Check sound in menu and game

Already have.
I also used device monitoring software to see the channels die once you leave the menu.
I have proved it only happens on the steam copy, only for reach, and only when you have EAC enabled, regardless of the number, sampling frequency, or channel count of audio device/s connected, disabled, reinstalled, or spoofed.
I reattempt with each major update.

It appears that with the halo 3 update reach now has sound for me!
