I have no sound in halo 4. I already tried wiping my xbox HD and reinstalling (I have sound on the disc 2) I have sound during the 343 logo and the microsoft logo at the start of the game. I have the limited edition version of the game also. Not only that but after I finish watching the prologue for the campaign it boots me back to the main menu (The prologue has sound)
TLDR; No sound, game issue not hardware, need fix ASAP, currently unplayable

This is very odd.
I have heard a few people have been having technical issues with Campaign.
I myself just inserted the disc and it has been fine for me so far.
Perhaps you do not have enough space on your hard drive? It’s 8GB minimum.

Nope, I have over 40gb free =/ I even tried re installing disc 2. The weird thing is I had sound for the first couple of multiplayer matches, then it just cut out.
I tried a friends disc and it worked. I must have gotten a broken disc…
I have the same problem. It’s a big bummer since I spent all day dwelling on how awesome the campaign would be. Hopefully there is a fix, or some kind of patch. I started a topic on this as well. I have the original white 360, idk if that makes a difference… I’m really just ready to jump into this, audio and all…
I had sound when I first played, now I do not, only the sound effects for the logos.
I suggest returning it to the retailers because it has a 90 day warranty on it by Microsoft. This is clearly their fault since we all have the exact same problems
I’ve got the same problem, except I’ve got no sound on the microsoft logos at the start. Also, my camaign doesn’t load when I go on it, I don’t know if thats the same problem or not 
tryed sending it back to Amazon but their sold out so I’m stuck with an unplayable copy of halo…
Have the same problem as Sneaky with my limited edition, except it doesn’t throw me to the munu I just have no sound. The prologue cut scene I have sound. Once the games starts no sound. Multi-player no sound either. It worked when I first installed it, it doesn’t work anymore.
I started getting disk errors now. It may be a bad DVD.

Keep in mind, most stores go by their OWN warranty, not by the warranty Microsoft gives you. It’ll be even more difficult to replace it at a retail store if it’s an LE.
Take it back as a defective product. If they have another one, swap it there. If not, contact XBOX to request the disc be replaced. I’m sure they have discs on hand.
I had literally (and I mean literally) the same problem, turning the Xbox off and on again worked for me.
Same here, at first my sound worked but now while in a game certain sound effects work like a plasma pistol bodies hitting the ground a needler etc. But 95% of all sound is gone and my campaign doesn’t work anymore
