Just got all the DLC packs a few days ago. I had Crimson already but I stopped playing for awhile. Now 3 days later of playing I have not seen a single DLC map come up in the voting lobby. It’s like I wasted my money. Back when I had Crimson Harvest would come up every 3 or so games. Now that there are more maps they don’t even show up any more? That doesn’t make sense. If there are more maps they should how up more often because the ratio of Vanilla maps to DLC tightens. Can someone clarify why 22 hours of game time later I have not seen a single DLC map?
Because the people you are playing with don’t have the DLC.
Others have suggested partying up with as many people with dlc as possible and then search (increasing the odds that everyone will have the dlc).
If the people you are playing against do not have the DLC maps then they wont show as voting options. As far as I can remember, its been like that since Halo 3 (until the majority of playlists were made DLC required). The best chance is to get a team of DLC owners together and then search. The more people in your party with DLC the more chance you will have of matching up with other parties that have DLC, in turn increasing the odds of them showing as voting options.
I understood the Halo 4 matchmaking system to prioritize you with other players who had all the DLC. As it stands, like the OP I too am tired of not getting to play any of these maps. The voting in Big Team is especially poor.
Comon 343 - figure something out.
At the very least, make DLC playlists for 4 on 4 and Big Team where you must own all DLC to play.
They don’t show up often but they do show up. It would be nice though if 343i created a couple of permanent DLC playlists so they would always be available:
Squad DLC- 5v5
Majestic Pack, Bullseye Pack, Harvest, Daybreak, and Forge Island variants. Mix of Slayer and Objective gametypes. (Majestic Pack, Bullseye Pack, and Forge Island required)
BTB DLC- 8v8
Crimson Pack, Castle Pack, and Forge Island variants. Mix of Slayer and Objective gametypes. (Crimson Pack, Castle Pack, and Forge Island required)

343 not forcing DLC on playlists + low game population = Bad DLC
I understand, it’s because the game can only give you voting options for it when everyone in the lobby has it. So it hardly ever comes up.
The best part is when dlc finally comes up as an option, but nobody votes for it.

That’s happened to me plenty of times and don’t understand why people don’t vote for the DLC when it shows up. The worst for me was in a CTF lobby, the choices were Skyline, Monolith, and Ragnarok. They f’ing picked Ragnarok. I’m pissed when people vote for that in 5v5 as it is but when the DLC is an option its even worse.
343i - Why can’t there be a DLC playlist with only the DLC maps included in the voting rotation? I am quite disappointed that I paid for 9 new maps all of which I never get to play anymore. The only time I have been able to play in the new maps was when they initially released but now I never see them in MM. Please fix this soon, otherwise I will not be purchasing Halo multiplayer DLC in the future.

343 haven’t made a playlist for all DLC because a playlist filled with maps that require different team sizes wouldn’t work. A 8v8 game would be unplayable and filled with spawn camping on Skyline. Same as a 4v4 wouldn’t play well on Outcast/Shatter due to their size (it would be a long boring game that probably wouldn’t reach the maximum score).
Okay just following up on this post. Now 8 days later, 46 hours of game time, still no DLC maps in the voting. I understand that if a single person doesn’t have the DLC then we don’t get the maps but come on, I know for a fact that the odds aren’t this low.
I have the champions bundle and not even once have I seen Pitfall or Vertigo on team slayer. --__-- This is truly disapointing…
Yeah… i got all the DLC too. I liked the DLC… Great maps… but it feels like i wasted my money. They do not show up.

20th January to the 2nd February is when the DLC playlist will be active.
What’s with this? It’s March 1st and no established playlist for DLC? People, including myself, buy this DLC in order to play them. I’ve had them for almost week now and nothing shows up, and I’ve been playing A LOT. I think it’s almost time to ask for some sort of reimbursement

No Halo game has a permanent DLC playlist, with the exception of Team Mythic in Halo 3.
They should do what a certain third person shooter did. Have a no-dlc playlist and have the rest of the playlists mandatory to have all the dlc. I know this idea is a bit asinine but if it increases sales on dlc and it also works for people who have the GOTY edition like I do.

343 cant afford to make extra permanent playlists. halo 4 already has a low palyer count. and having more playlists just extends search time. I would love to have two dlc playlists that were permanent, but 343 has a different way of thinking that is the correct way of thinking. all the people who have played halo for years know nothing.
