halo 5 forge is here, but what is the point?
I would love to be able to join a forge matchmaking game, but there is no option for that. is there a secret place to go in the game to find the community created forge game modes? or do I have to ask around every player and say “hey, do you make forge maps?”. if so, this asks me to do the work for you 343, bad idea.
where is to forge community obstacle courses? where you can drive a mongoose around a user created track (halo reach)? this halo 5 forge is missing a share feature, nonsense
where can i find others with the same interest to play in forge mode? Again, im not trying to find friends but want to join players.
I just want to play in a user created forge maps, but i don’t want to be forced to get acquainted with other players on a friendship level.
forge in halo 5 seems to be only to please the development team not the players (if selected will be used in next free map dlc imo). because 343 has access to all your forge maps, when it is like playing hide-and go-seek finding user created maps. It is pretty obvious that 343 don’t want us to get this forge game mode in operation with the absence of sharing options.
It’s like we’ve been waiting patiently for at least ONE new game type in Halo… and we got a bunch of new weapon skins, armour and one remixed map as an update.
Pizza skins. It wouldn’t have been bad if it were good skins. But now we have more random REQs to clog up our chances of Legendaries.

Finding good maps can be a bit of a chore these days. The forge group that I’m in, Forge Factory, aims to remedy that problem. We are an exclusive group of experienced forgers with a variety of skills that have been making good maps for a long time. Checkout forgefactory.net for a list of our forgers, lobby hosts, and maps. In the customs section I have a Friend Finder system that makes it easy to find others with similar interests.
Other than that, checkout forgehub.com and search YouTube for Halo 5 Forge Maps and you’ll find some good stuff. 343 is working on a file browser, and it seems like it will be the best one yet, but we have no idea when it will be released.

Are they working on a file browser? I need some proof before I get my hopes up. Forge is truly worthless without one and its omission from Forge’s launch is inexcusable.
Check Tom French’s twitter account - pardontomfrench - he is one of the forge devs and has mentioned working on a file browser. No eta on it dropping though
Yeah this is why Forge doesn’t mean much to me. I like the ideal of it, but I’m not going to develop maps with it and my friends on XBL don’t play Halo so Customs is not really an option for me right now. So when I see all of these cool looking Forge maps, it’s like, “Those look damn good. To bad I’ll never get to fully enjoy them”.
