No-Scope vs. Snapshot.

In the multiplayer reveal trailer we can hear Jeff say, “No-scope!” which presumably means that the Snapshot medal has been replaced. Do you think you will miss hearing “Snapshot!” after getting a no-scope kill?

No scope sounds a billions times better to me.

My son calls them no-scopes anyway… is that what they are called in other games?

Yeah. In Halo 4 and Halo 5: Guardians no-scope kills are called Snapshot’s. If you get one the announcer will yell, “Snapshot!”

No-scope is fine with me.

It’s not a proper no-scope until you get air horns, monster energy logos and Linkin Park blast across the screen.

I think No Scope is more of a generally used term across FPS games. I’m fine with the change.

Snapshot sounds way better to me purely because this is Halo and not COD. It’s the same thing if they changed “KILLIONAIRE” to merciless like Call of Duty, just doesn’t sound right and isn’t Halo in my opinion

Halo players have been calling it a no-scope since CE. It makes far more sense to call it that than a snapshot.

I don’t know why so much of the fanbase has such a hate throb for popular games either.

No-Scope game modes were all the rage in Halo 2, and Halo 3, even Reach customs lobbies, people played on the honor system but for the old hats in the community we referred to it as no scopes, the arguement that no scopes is a CoD term just isn’t true, it was used widely amongst many Fps franchises and appeared within the Halo community before CoD, as it didn’t become popular with CoD until CoD 4’s release in '07. Halo 2 had it in '05.

No-scopes are what they were originally called by the community. Snapshot was a new term added for the medal. I prefer no-scope just because it sounds correct

I like No-scope. Snapshot to me, sounded purely like an attempt to just rebrand a no-scope, similar to how
everything else seemed like a rebranding thing in Halo at the time. Didn’t like it. Nobody I played with ever even called it that anyway, it was always no-scope. Sounds cooler the way he announced it this time too

Not gonna lie, if you asked me that before watching the trailer I would’ve said keep snapshot. But after hearing him say no scope, yeah get rid of snapshot.

No scope is 4 times better than snapshot imo

As others have said, “no-scope” is the common term. I don’t have emotional attachment to “snapshot”, so “no-scope” is just better.

No scope been used for over a decade in games, its a more classic term compared to snap shot.

No-scope is how it was called in Halo in the past. Sounds to me that the snapshot came later than that.

I have the feeling that we are discussing even the smallest detail of the game.

At least no-scope is indicative of what has occurred. I never understood the rebranding to snapshot. It also never bothered me, as medal names are pretty inconsequential… but still.

The change doesn’t bother me, though I will miss the crisp “SNAPSHOT”. At the end of the day, not a big deal.
