No satisfying medals?

Throughout all the gameplay I’ve seen, why are there no medals? I love watching medals pop on the screen?

Is it just them hiding medals so we can’t see them for the “Surprise! It’s your birthday!” effect or are there really no medals for headshots or what not anymore?

Anything from the PAX build doesn’t include the medals in-game. You can only see them on the post-game stats.
